    Media World Compra On Line (www.mediaworld.it), attivo dal 1999, è il primo sito web per la vendita di beni di elettronica di consumo con una media di 35 mila visitatori al giorno, più di un milione di pagine viste quotidianamente e oltre 600 ordini al giorno. Nel 2006 le vendite hanno superato i 30 milioni di euro (27 milioni di euro nel 2005) con un 8 per cento di incremento su anno (net vat) e un market share di circa il 10 per cento. Ma che cosa si compera principalmente sul sito? Per il 40 per cento pc desktop e portatili, per il 17% tv e per il 10 per cento fotocamere digitali.
    Molto interessanti anche i "numeri" dei canali dedicati, come Net Print per la stampa di foto digitali che ha registrato nel 2006 oltre 1.500 accessi al giorno, con 3,8 milioni di foto stampate e Net Music, il music store online di Media World, dal quale sono stati scaricati 300 mila brani. Ma ancora più sorprendente è il canale Libri. Solo nei primi quattro mesi del 2007 sono stati venduti oltre 300 mila libri (crescita del 60 per cento), dei quali un 5 per cento su Media World.
    "Con Media World Compra On Line offriamo ai nostri clienti la possibilità di trovare gli stessi prodotti e servizi del megastore anche su Internet, con un concetto di integrazione delle attività tra punto vendita e online. Per esempio, il 50 per cento dei download di brani musicali è stato pagato utilizzando delle card da 10 euro a scalare acquistate nei punti vendita" dice Pierluigi Bernasconi, amministratore delegato di Mediamarket, società proprietaria dei brand Media World, Media World Compra On Line e Saturn.
    Mediamarket intende rafforzare ulteriormente la propria strategia multicanale, come dice Bernasconi, e comunicare nonché interagire con la più grande community presente sul territorio italiano: quella dei 50 milioni di possessori di cellulari. In questa logica vede la luce mediaworld.mobi, il sito per i cellulari, nel senso che è ottimizzato per la visualizzazione sui piccoli schermi dei telefonini. Su mediaworld.mobi è disponibile tutto ciò che si può trovare in un qualsiasi punto vendita. La consultazione è già possibile, mentre l´acquisto al momento è effettuabile tramite chiamata gratuita al numero verde del call center. Entro l´anno saranno introdotti anche i pagamenti con carta di credito direttamente via mobile con protocollo sicuro.

    That`s a good one....I don`t need to read the article to know it...I had a big store just near where I lived in Rome.

    I can see that you did not read the article...I of course did NOT register this name. They have it and they developped it...It was just good to see .mobi in a major Italian newspaper and a major site going developped...

    Now I did.....yes, good but it`s not the first one at all in Italy.

    Wow...this is huge.

    The media market is a very well known departmentstore in europe with electronics and music/dvd's..
    Hopefully they will launch the .mobi in whole europe !

    it's not the same... mediaworld.mobi its the mobile version of the italian online store (http://compraonline.mediaworld.it). Could you rate it?

    At the moment it seems that you can buy only by callig the call center or by sending a sms (you'll be called by the call center). For the future... let's wait
