    Default .Mobi Directory Script?

Some time ago I posted a cry for help for a .mobi compliant blog template. Within minutes, someone (noonoo1) had suggested a perfect solution (thanks mate!).

I wondered therefore whether anyone had any suggestion for a link directory script. There are stacks of free and commercial offerings out there fore the static internet: but has anyone implemented a good looking script for .mobi?

Ideally we want something which will look ok on a normal PC, as well as being .mobi compliant.

Any suggestions at all would ve valued and appreciated.

Have you guys seen the directory script that developmy offers? I have uploaded it to one of my sites so you can see it in action here: Mobile Directory

Still adding sites but definitely a useful site. And of course you can always purchase a copy from scripter.

That's good... and we will definitely use some of those scripts with our projects.

On the directory script, are you aware of anything that simultaneously serves in a nice manner to static PCs? The blog script we used works well on both .mobi and non .mobi environments (demo here: www.ppl.mobi ). See how that looks like a regular site on a normal PC, but scores a 5 on ready.dev?

    Thanks for the welcome

I believe we are the first full fledged directory script to offer a .mobi template. One of our users is busy setting up his site to detect mobile users and redirect them to the .mobi template. If he needs assistance with that I"ll be sure to send him on over.

IndexU is indeed $99, but we have a coupon code for February for a 25% discount on your purchase of IndexU. The coupon code is onethirty.

And if you send me a message on our help desk (Attn: Bruce) with your newly purchased license number and tell me you found this thread, for the month of February I'll give you the .mobi template for free (a $20 value). That's pretty much a $45 discount.

    Re: mobile template.

    What does it score?

We could do with some standard here, like no promoiting scripts that score <5

I don't know if there is a working example, you'd honestly have to ask on the forum. One of our users (mpdaddy on the forum) was planning on using that template but I dont know if he did.

barq - IndexU allows users to join and can post images, attachments, files or whatever you want to permit as part of the listing description. The entire listing can be customized and doesn't have to be your standard url and description. Even the URL is optional, and we also have a PAD file plugin where users can use IndexU as a software repository. It's a really versatile script.

I don't see why they couldn't, the listing is just a typical web form. The image area is done the typical windows way where a user needs to browse for the picture they want to upload. So I'm not sure if that would work or not with a mobile browser, I would assume so but I'm not a mobile browser user. I'm online 8-12 hours a day anyways, I don't want to be on any more than that lol

I'll see what I can do to get a demo up and running.

IndexU has the ability to restrict which files types you permit to be uploaded (by extension).

I'm still working on a demo, I should have it done today some time.

Apparently I blew it with the offer for last month and the demo. I'm extending the offer for the month of March as well.

Please accept my apologies on the delay of the demo.
