    Default URLs in posts

Hi, I'm new and all that, but...

was wondering why people so often post the URLs of their websites without bothering to make a link out of them?

What's the point of writing seeme.mobi if I can't click it?

Couldn't you make a link out of it, or at least write the http:// yeah?

Clickable links help people choose to visit your site, on their mobile, and on their PC.

    Welcome

Sometimes when referring to sites, we may choose click dot mobi or click(.)mobi or any other number of ways in order that certain sites do not get indexed.

If you are wanting to talk negatively about something or simply do not want a linkback to this thread, then you would opt to not include the full url.

Nearly every instance of the URL in full is indexed and a back link added. This is fine if you want someone or something to have the links, but not so good when you are not wanting to give someone or some site any publicity or promo.

I'm sure you're quite right, but I'm talking about people who are posting links to their own sites, and neglecting to make them clickable.

I do understand and take your point about not wishing to give 'pagerank kudos' to certain sites.

If you look at my signature line, there are mostly no links. The sig is limited to 1000 characters. That includes all mark up language (html) as being part of that total.

    Again, a fair consideration.

kilobox, I think I know what you mean. The ones that aren't hot or not clickable as you call it are not developed & have no content . Many folks have some of the names they own on the bottom, their signature. the ones that you can click on are a developed .mobi ...
I hope this answers your question. The example I just gave applies to my signature & some others but maybee not all of the members.

    Regards, TH

I wish that was always true tophatter, as it's a great distinction!

But, I was just saying how annoying it is when people ask you to visit their site and neglect to make it clickable!
