    Can someone tell me why floats on Mobi websites are so bad?

    Not sure if it is bad. I see use of it in CSS3 to create multiple columns to replace table which is bad for mobile sites.

    I thought I'd read some post here where someone was saying that it was bad to use floats. Can't find it now.

    Unless and until, you target audience is using Next Generation smart phones (android, iphone, HTC blah blah), you do not have to worry about it. If you want to tap the larger speed-deprived, processing-power deprived, discriminated-browser-capability phones then stick to age old validated xhtml code.

    So xhtml doesn't validate floats?

    float is a css property i suppose. why not use align ?? but do not use align in xhtml , use it in css

    That's was what I thought. Floats in CSS are OK. Align in xhtml isn't!
