Congratulations on the sale. I own a car related or rather said automobile related domain Autocars.Mobi. I was hoping that the end user of the domain created a mobile specific site. Anyways glad to see that automobile related mobi domains have a considerable sale value.

Morse I don't understand your comment. The OP is referencing a new .mobi site and you're talking sales. Perhaps Nash sold this domain but how does it benefit the mobi ecosystem?

    Default Question

Questions I cannot figure out the answer.

Why would a company be looking to buy a .mobi version when it already owns .com, .net, .org of the name.

If they wanted a mobile version why not use m.carquest.com

    Another question

why would both below companies "abandon, i.e. started using and did for a while the m. in their web to go to the mobile, then switch to a .mobi instead.
I did follow their conversion from a m. to a .mobi very specifically

    and they are :

    fidelity.com
    thestreet.com

I find the above cases very perplexing.

That is because Nash owned carquest.mobi previously reference
It benefits the mobi ecosystem as sales in a particular niche do add value of those niche based .mobi domains.
However I have also pointed out that i expected an automobile based mobile site, but then again it was just an expectation. They used a redirect.
