    Question One screen size to rule them all

    I know there is no such thing, since the different screen sizes and resolutions vary so much. However, if I was going to try and cover most iPhone and Android phones, what screen size should I tell my designer to design to? Eventually we will design more than one version to support an even wider variety of phones, but if I was going to just start with one, which should I start with?

    320x480?

    Also, if I have a design that was already done to 480px wide, is there an easy way to make sure that get's scaled down to full screen on devices that are smaller than that?

    All my sites use the following statement to let the device's width rule.

    <meta name='viewport' content='user-scalable=no, width=device-width' />

    For title and image size, I always use 240 pixels as my maximum. My Android phone has 240-pixel screen width, which is the smallest smartphone size I believe. I use my phone for testing my sites.

    BTW, welcome to Mobility, adamduro.

    I'm at odds with this situation. I do tend to use % but this is not good for many reasons.

    My favorite wordpress plugin doesn't account for iPad users. I'm waiting to see if they change this in the near future. Sorry that is not a technical answer... and welcome to mobility!
