Default .mobi makes a mention in The Washington Post.

Dot mobi makes The Washington Post.

Since 2000, ICANN has expanded the number of "generic top-level domains" only twice, and only in tiny doses to such sites ending in .biz, .jobs, .museum, or .mobi (for mobile sites). Those domains have so far yet to attract huge audiences.

I'm quite optimistic about the launch of new descriptive domain gtlds. It will mean the general public will become more aware of alternative gtlds

It can only be good for .mobi

Can easily lead to dilution and confusion as well, not sure which way I'm leaning

Most busy readers may just miss that part on .mobi.

Not to sound overly negative, but .museum was listed too. And I think that one is pretty well DOA. Long extension, very specific purpose/ownership, obscure, etc.

Still, can't complain about the added exposure for Mobi.
