    Default Updates to Compliance Standards?

I realize part, some or most of the information I am seeking is probably found in this area. However, I am not a developer, so talk of development formats and whatnot is lost on me, sorry. If you can tolerate a rather generalized question, I am curious if the compliance standards are keeping pace with the hardware and network advances. Have they changed at all is probably a good place to start.

To my knowledge the compliance standards have not changed since the beginning. Also to my knowledge mtld has done absolutely no substantive punitive enforcement of the standards so it begs the question if they are even relevant. Unfortunately all .mobi registrants are bound by their registrar contracts and agree to follow the standards so those who are mindful of the fine print do more work to comply while the registry does nothing to those who flagrantly ignore their obligations. It's a sore spot to say the least.
