As for the Mobile detector, yes, it is free and can be updated thru WordPress. We want to make it better and useful to everyone. so welcome to give me your thoughts.

As for the Pages plugin/theme, I am afraid not, you have to stay on our mailing list to get updates.

BTW, the iPhone desktop icon feature has been added to Pages theme, we will integrate it with others shortly!
