.mobi of the month

We have some exciting news here at Mobility!

We are starting a .mobi of the month contest to showcase awesome new .mobi sites developed by our members! We want to encourage development as much as possible and feel that this is an ideal way of doing it while at the same time giving back to the very members who have made Mobility such an awesome community!

o be nominated, a .mobi site must:

• Be a site owned by a Mobility member who has a post count of at least 30 and has been a member for at least 1 month (to discourage new members from joining just to have their sites nominated).
• Not be yours (to keep the number of nominations down).
• Score at least a 4/5 on Ready.mobi (to encourage proper development).
• Have been posted beforehand in the "New .mobi sites Developed by members" Section by its owner no more than 3 months ago, not including the month it was posted (to encourage members to develop new sites and share them with the Community).
• Have never previously won .mobi of the month (to give other sites a chance), although it may be previously nominated.
• Not be adult or offensive in nature (to keep it clean).

(Since this is very new, the rules above could obviously change in the future.)

During the last 3 days of the month, we'll put all the nominees up for a vote in a separate thread and the one that receives the most votes from the community will be the .mobi of the month for the following month.

Now for the really juicy part. The .mobi of the month will be displayed on the right hand side of our top banner for the entire month. Considering Mobility receives well over 1 million pageviews a month and that our banner appears at the top of every one of those pages, that's a lot of free exposure and, hopefully, enough of an incentive for you guys to keep cranking out kick-*** .mobi sites.

We've said it in the past, and we'll say it again, Mobility is pro-.mobi and therefore pro-development! Start cranking out those puppies!

Great idea Scandi, we'll waive this requirement for the first 3 months, so all member .mobi sites are game for the January, February, and March .mobi of the month, irrespective of when they were developed.

Gotta agree on the Pilot and Dir nominations. They get the nod from me as the applications are not only handy but useful for all. Not targeted to a specific audience, EVERYBODY at some point needs directions and or a good directory, IMHO. Dir gets a "bonus" for being the first "big" mobi site (is that kinda like "jumbo shrimp"?)

Only a few days left for nominations before we start the poll. So far we have 3 great sites by 3 great mobi enthusiasts nominated, now is the time to nominate anyone else's sites that you feel are worthy contenders.

It's hard to pick one.

Boroughs.mobi-Because of the useful info as a visitor in NYC or its resident can find places easily on it.

Autodisk.mobi- Because I played with it and it has so many options, pic and specs of the cars.

And then RxD.mobi is good for locating pharmacy..., am torn

And apkc.net's developments- among them , payroll.mobi.., I see it on my Motorola and it looks so good!

Kinda like picking best picture of the year at the Oscars.. and foreign language film , best cinematography or best director are all good contenders for it

But , being that seanboy's Boroughs is the one that inspired me back when I first took interest in mobi. I'd say Boroughs.mobi this month.
