Default Major problem at a terrible time

I'm having more problems updating another MSG site.

Hurricane season starts tomorrow, and as I was updating evacuations.mobi with a simple update, I'm not getting this on my site:
XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: </div>.
    Location: http://evacuations.mobi/hurricane_info_2.php
    Line Number 12, Column 1058:</span><!-- --><!-- ~~~RssFeedsEnd~~~ --><input name="xml_url" type="hidden" value="http://www.nhc.
Not good, as I have a big press release going out tomorrow AM on evacuations.mobi.

Site was working fine before I attempted update. It seems as if I can't update anything any more.

Please help me fix this today!
    Thanks,
    Mark

PM has been dispatched. Coast to the rescue!

    many many many thanks....
    Mark

MSG phone number is switched to an answering machine...not helping my cause at all....hope they'll call back. My press release is scheduled for 6:00 AM Sunday release. This sucks for me and mobisitegalore, as it's their name on the site that will be down.

    W.I.P.,

Your Page "hurricane_info_2" does have a mismatched tag in Firefox

    But....

"hurricane_info_2", is displaying in Safari and IE

(It does look like a current update.)

Definately issues with the Firefox browser regarding mismatched tags.

I believe they switch over to their answering machine through the weekends.

Thanks Biz...I didn't realize it was a browser issue. That helps to know!

This is purely a FireFox related issue and it doesn't affect the display in other devices (including mobile devices) in any way. Currently we are testing the fix at our end and will update online within couple of days.

The press release is great, Work In Progress! The site shows on the emulator, and on the safari browser it shows the error message but then also shows the page "up to the first error." It's firefox that is a mess - I hope mobisitegalore can fix it soon.

I'm waiting for the files to ftp them to your hosting, and once that is done I'll need you to change the nameservers. That is, if you still want to move it.

Thanks so much Coast. I've emailed you the files to look at. If you think it's worth the effort, we'll continue. Don't know how many use firefox, but I'm certain I'm loosing quite a few eyes. It's great it's working on the mobile browsers, but people don't read many press releases on mobiles. Not too many "Average Joes" are going to put it through the emulator either. Especially PR's that say the site works on PC's as well...Bad timing for something like this. Hoping MSG gets this big problem fixed quickly! I have multiple sites that need updated on a regular basis.
    Again, many thanks Coast!

Any updates on this yet? As luck would have it, the largest majority of visitors to this have been using FireFox so they're getting the error...

MSG, we haven't switched his hosting because someone on this forum said it would be fixed soon. It is the beginning of Florida hurricane season with large storms hitting, and this site needs to be up. Any estimate on how long it will take to fix the firefox problem?

A big chunk of my traffic comes in on Firefox too, and I use it myself about 75% of the time. This is a significant issue IMHO.

The only time I use IE is to do the funky windows updates, otherwise I would never use it

The issue has been fixed in mobiSiteGalore and will soon be updated in site.mobi. You will have to re-publish your websites with the problem to get over it.

It's very frustrating primarily because it just seems to take so long to get some of these bugs fixed.

I think there may be a coding snag between MSG and the FireFox browser, regarding certain functions within their site builder.

The issue has been fixed so that it won't created by mobiSiteGalore again. However, pages that have already been affected have to be corrected manually only. We will take the URLs mentioned above and do the necessary correction. Others may send us the URLs (by private messages) so that we can correct them too.

It is not really easy to do it this way but the issue seems to be much for our parser to fix it automatically.

I am seeing the home page fine in Firefox, but when I go hurricane info I get the above error message.

You can see what the errors in a site's coding are by going to http://validator.w3.org, for example here's the Hurricane Info page: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fevacuations.mobi%2Fhurrican e_info_2.php&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&do ctype=Inline&group=0

just to be clear about this, there is no problem with Firefox. The problem is in the coding of some MSG pages. Some browsers are more forgiving of code errors than others, usually meaning they don't properly observe web standards. IE is widely used but not good quality.

Here's an analogy: "Windows blow in the wind, said John. That is still comprehensible with the ending quotation marks missing, but not so clear in other contexts. Do you want your browser inventing stuff for you ?

Scandi...you might want to alter this so we don't have the side scrolling . I feel like I'm trying to look at a PC site on a mobile...
Yeah, I know the issue is still there. I tried re-publishing as well this AM, thinking that might do the trick. Not sure what to think of MSG asnwer of they will fix it for me. Don't know if that means today, tomorrow....next week?

This isn't difficult to fix -please ignore if you've already tried this, but as long as you can download the pages, edit and upload, you can fix this easily (as long as nothing at MSG alters code, can't see why it would. I hope this helps.

You just need to put in a new </div> tag at the end of the page before </body></html>, I did this and it worked. In other words I copied and pasted the full page code into the W3 validator, checked it and was told there were four errors, put in the </div>, and then it validated, no errors.

The page now looks like this:
