Default July .mobi parking traffic update

To continue posting of our most popular parked sites each month, I thought I'd kick things off with my top 10 July stats from NameDrive (my top 12, really, due to ties):

    With 12 visits each:
    • 6250.mobi
    • OnlineStockMarket.mobi
    • PoliticalParty.mobi
    • ProPokerOnline.mobi
    • TheHaight.mobi
    • TropicalPlants.mobi
    • WinningNumbers.mobi
    With 11 visits each:
    • FloralShop.mobi
    • RateCalculator.mobi
    With 9 visits each:
    • CitiesOnline.mobi
    • COQ.mobi
    • MyRSSFeed.mobi
Not sure what it tells me, really...especially since NONE of them are repeats from June's top 10...

Were they just traffic, or did anyone click on them?

ALL of my traffic was from Europe and the ads were from the US. I use NameDrive - does anyone know how to get European ads, preferably ones that resolve to mobile content?

The ones above were just traffic, but I did get a few clicks on some of my other .mobi names...

    Hi Scandi,

Were they just views, or did any of them get clicks? Thanks.

Just views, only 1 click each. I've done better on clicks in previous months.

Wow...amazing. I still have yet to break $1 total at ND in 2 months there with just my .mobis. I know it's supposed to take a little bit for things to pick up once you start there, but how long have you had those there?

I just KNOW I've got a few names that should be getting better click-through...

July was horrible in regards to clicks for the mobi. Mine are at NameDrive.

    July 700 8 1.14 % CTR
    June 1468 255 17.37% CTR

For July, most traffic was from Europe.

The overall mix of domains and languages is still a good sign with English, Spanish, Japanese, Number-Letter combos represented.

    Top Domains (from high of 19 hits);

    treated
    depends
    GA7 (alpha-numeric for "gas")
    Tasmanian
    Headings
    Hiked
    Pitched
    caye
    Prescribed
    MayaKoba
    Projected
    aDog
    baye
    Liki
    Neji
cacoon (I guess I am not the only one who misspelled this)
    gonads
    Headed
    U2C (You To See)
    wayside
    Mangaka
    Frosh
    Exposing
    Maroma

I had just under 1500 hits in July. My top 4 were...

    hotair.mobi 34 hits
    uin.mobi 26 hits
masterplan.mobi 11 hits (now on auction at sedo)
    drugscreen.mobi 10 hits

Only 6 click throughs the whole month. I need to fine tune my parked names for sure!

Well, it looks like we're all in the same boat. In order to get clicks, what we need are advertisers that resolve to European mobile content. That sounds like a tall order --- how do we get that?

Wow...what a difference a July was compared to May & June.

    July : 132 Views....6 Clicks.....
    June: 424 Views....70 Clicks...
    May : 470 Views...42 Clicks....

What happened? Why would SEDO views be up and ND's down? It just doesn't make sense.

BUT...the ever optimistic guy I am...I'm happy to report my DEVELOPED sites are all increasing views each and every month.

The lesson to be learned is, parking mobi's ain't gonna make us rich anytime soon. It might help to pay a reg fee or two, but is that what any of us want?

Could be vacation, travel, whatever...something. Most of my traffic was from Europe.

I still see positive results in such a broad mix of words and languages. To me this is keeping with the spread of mobi to all countries and cultures.

I agree it's a global tld...but...Do people not take their mobiles with them on vacations / or while traveling? I kinda thought that's the mobi crowd we should be flourishing in?

My suspicion is global telecommunication is in it's infancy. Sure, there are no roaming fees here in the states in some areas, but I am not sure in Europe. When I went to Italy, I left the cell at home and purchased and international calling card.

Another facet of change (just a guess) is that many cultures and countries have school age children attend school on an almost year round basis. To be quite honest, I think that is a massive market of the .mobi generation that has to put the phone away.

Young professionals are just not seeing it or hearing it...yet. But there seems to be some positive trends, such as the placards featured in the train station (subway).

We'll get there. I also certainly hope for and expect a surge this fall as NFL season rolls around.

With BofA.mobi and Bank of America putting their name on the stadium of the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, I expect them to do some promoting within the confines of the stadium, on the jumbo tron, and hopefully television commercials. Trust me, I'll be watching and hoping and waiting.

I think we are about a year away, perhaps a little more from some serious market penetration. And maybe, just maybe, the Charlotte NC area will be a catalyst for this. It has become quite the banking center with both B of A and Wachovia having their world headquarters located there (nearly side by side), an NFL and and NBA team, and other popular spots like Lake Norman (the largest manmade lake east of the Mississippi), massive NASCAR fans, shops, tracks and whatnot sponsored by many telecommunication companies, Lowe's motor speedway, and a very affluent tech savvy and medical population.

Plus, with the Summer Olympics around the corner in Beijing, the kid doing the kayaking commercial for BofA.mobi and BofA and Visa both being a sponsor of the Olympics, this could be the catapult. Not to mention that the US Olympic Paddling/Rowing training center just recently moved to Charlotte and opened up their brand new facilities with manmade rivers, whitewater rapids, and offer lessons and instructions to the general public. This is a big deal for me, in my opinion, as it continues to put Charlotte in a very positive light on the national and international scene.

So, you have BofA, Wachovia, NFL, NBA, Olympics, NASCAR tracks and drivers and fans and museums all over the Charlotte area, huge boating and recreational opportunities, snow ski and snowboarding about an hour away, international jet boat/drag boat competitions as well as world class waterskiing competitions in the area, and countless museums, art, and cultural activities.

Now they just need to DO IT!
