To me it looks like you have two "header" tags that may be conflicting ???

One is:


header, footer, article {
display:block;
}

That's was what I thought. Floats in CSS are OK. Align in xhtml isn't!

So xhtml doesn't validate floats?

I thought I'd read some post here where someone was saying that it was bad to use floats. Can't find it now.
