Has anyone been able to submit their site to dir.mobi? Every time I try, I just get sent to the "submission guidelines" page, even after I have followed the instructions the guidelines provide .

Of course, it's entirely possible I'm just not doing something right.....

    Thanks,

    MM

OK--vcool straightened me out in about 30 seconds and I now have all of my sites listed on dir.mobi. I highly recommend dir.mobi for all other mobility members who have developed sites. Thanks again to vcool and scandi.

As an SEO fyi, limit your directory submissions to 5 a day. Any more than that and google is likely to think you're a bot and downgrade your site accordingly.

    Thumbs up LetsTalk.com

Anybody ever see this site? Do you know it has a very nice directory of mobile sites? Just click on the ringtones & more tab to e taken to mobicious Click mobile sites and you're there.

Very nicely done thumbnails (kind of like mtld showcase, only bigger) with ability to rate/review sites, send to favorites, get an emulator view.

Found this one through back-links to newwindows.mobi

Also noticed many showcase sites from our members in there. Some of mine are there and I just submitted the rest.

PS Submitted before to dir.mobi... but lately every time I try I get told to submit via PC site ie http://dir.mobi/add_url_guide.php
anyone have a link to the submit page???

http://mobiEnthusiast.mobi isn't a directory, but if you have a developed site that scores 5/5 (I'll let a 4/5 slip) and is g-rated, please pm me and if it doesn't have any kind of adult ads on it I can review it for possible inclusion as a site spotlight.

Good list, and a few I didn't have. Thanks!

Just a word of warning, however, to those of you are relatively new to link building and directories. There are only a few that the engines really pay attention to, so don't spend your life savings getting into them. They may be used more early on, as inbound links for mobile sites are more scarce than for their desktop counterparts; but if the trends of the early web are any indication, mobile directories like other directories will be downgraded in importance over time.

By the way, I found about 125 of these mobile directories. Not to brag, but to tell you all to keep looking if you are really interested in discovering these sites. I'm not going to share the whole list, as I'm sure most of them are nearly worthless in terms of their importance to the major search engines, but you are missing out on one that I would consider strong. You can currently submit your mobile web site to Medio here:http://www.mediosystems.com/solutions/wapsubmit.php They provide search technology to partners including T-mobile, so it should help increase visibility.

    Bryson,

Is it possible to submit non-english site there? I own a huge dutch mobile website, but I'm alway a little afraid that I need to create an English description to get listed...

    Martin,

It doesn't say anything about excluding non-English sites, so I assume it will be fine.

If not, there's always Babelfish. I'm sure you could share the machine-translated text with forum members for some simple editing.

This appears to be an advertising site. Do they charge for links? If so, be careful. Paid links are getting sites downgraded in pagerank (the sites selling links, that is).

As for the 125 others, you will make more friends here if you share
