    Arrow iPhone Development Resources

Here are some good resources for anyone interested in developing mobile web apps for the iPhone/iPod Touch. I'm a member of the iPhoneWebDev group so feel free to PM me with questions.

Apple's official site for iphone development. This site has great info including apple's developent guidelines for the iphone browser.

iPhoneWebDev - A Google Group for iPhone developers. Great exchange of information, including a few examples of iphone mobile apps being developed (keep in mind that all apps developed for this phone will be web-based)

To develop sites/mobile apps for the iphone, you can test them out using the latest safari brower (OSX and Windows):

Seanboy, this is great stuff. Thank you so much for sharing it. I hope others out there take notice of this.

Considering the iPhone is the hottest web enabled mobile device du jour, embracing its users with content that utilizes the iPhones special capabilities can help build our site brands. This kind of content specialization relative to specific devices will IMO contribute to a sites reach and adoption, be it the iPhone, a BlackJack or a cheesy little nokia like mine. Our typical 1 size fits all mini .mobi sites are fine to start with but we need to learn to adapt content to maximize the experience for users with better devices without completely alienating those with simpler phones. It is a big jump in site complexity but the iPhone seems like a good place to start branching out. As our very own Gerry has previously quipped, "this site is iPhone friendly" seems to be significantly more prescient than I initially considered. I'm making this thread sticky in hopes others will take heed.
