I would like to be able to present an on-this-day feature for users of the mobile web - displaying the information for 'todays' date each day. At present I'm doing this using static HTML pages uploaded each day - not very practical.
You can see what I'm seeking to do at -

I need suggestions on probably some simple database system to accomplish this. Can members suggest anything suitable that will work with mobile phone browsers?
(My technical skills: proficient HTML, but not a programmer.)
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi David,

Stuff like this is very easy to accomplish with some server site scripting and a simple database. It depends however what your hosting provider is supporting. To make a feature like this will take a programmes some hours (you also need a management page where you can insert the info), but it won't be that difficult....

It's not especially something that you need for 'mobile browsers'. The server site script can write all (x)html so also the (x)html code that's mobile compliant.

Just use a PHP RSS parser.

It's sort of like giving driving directions to someone without a car or a drivers license.

That's pretty cool for something just thrown together.

I know that feeling well... it took 2 months of actively trying to understand this every day before anything made sense. It still doesn't make that much sense to me but I am learning.
