OK..
Almost there on my next "work in progress"
Thought now would be a good time for others to preview. Would love to hear feedback on
http://evacuations.mobi (http://evacuations.mobi/)
I'll be tweaking it (and spell checking) the next day or so.
Thanks,
Mark

This could be huge. Biggest question I have is how are you going to keep the info up to date in an emergency?

What any other God Fearing domainer would do. Don my slicker, find the tallest tree with my laptop in hand and hope I can get a signal to update
Seriously, for now, I'll attempt to keep info as fresh as I can from the noaa site. Would be great to add RSS feed as well. Thank God there usually aren't too many hurricanes. Also working on a template for Watches & Warnings that will post info on what to do now. It will be basic to start, but build-able as time allows. Focusing more on content to help those who are "green" to a hurricane experience. You'd be surprised at the coastal people who are unprepared and confused as to what to do in case an evacuation is ordered. The major goal of this site will give them the edge they need to either be prepared if they say, or routes if they go. I'm trying to work out something with Pilot for a very user friendly experience for the shelter locations and evacuation routes. Us Mobiers gotta stick together
Thanks for the encouraging words.

Thanks to the help of fellow mobility member Pilot...evacuations (http://evacuations.mobi)
is now ready. I'm awaiting an email from the National Hurricane Center in regards to a request I put in to implement a template they have for sites to input an address into to see if this address is in an evacuation zone. I let them know that this is for a mobile application and hope they have such a beast.
I'll be keeping the site as updated as I can with current conditions.
Again, many thanks to Pilot for the custom driving directions provided! A real class act! :adore:
