Sorry but I'm looking for at least a couple of grand to start this auction. This name could literally be worth over a million in a few years if mobi does well. I would rather kick myself in the head for selling it at a few grand now rather than just a few hundred bucks. I actually don't even want to sell the name now but if the right offer came then I'd consider it.

Just found out B of A has registered iPhoneWallet.mobi WOWWow, I'm surprised such a big company registered such a specific .mobi, it shows that they are very interested in .mobi in general. I had a similar line of thinking with E-Wallet.mobi, MobileWallet.mobi, MobiWallet.mobi, Moneyclip.mobi, and WirelessMoney.mobi. Forget cash and even cards, the future of payments will be your mobile phone. I see it completely replacing your wallet eventually.

It appears most of us here have some very good names. We should be positioned very well, for the future markets.
Luckily, I had similiar thinking, and at some point in the game I was able to get a few:
WirelessPayments.mobi
Pymt.mobi
MoneyBook.mobi
MiniPay.mobi

My thoughts exactly....that's why I got phoneaccount ( s ).mobi, phonemoney.mobi, phonescan.mobi and mobileaccount.mobi Aren't they already doing this over in Asia ?

Aren't they already doing this over in Asia ?Yes, and have been for a couple of years in Japan. I am not sure if it is barcode or what, but your phone is scanned by a check out lane or even a coke machine.
Phones are either prepaid amounts or charged to your phone bill.
So image, you do not need to carry a credit card or wallet. Just your phone.
This is where security really needs to step up in the wi-fi arena. I would love to think that my next trip to Italy would enable me to take my phone not only for the calling convenience but for payment.
This would make telecommunication companies even more powerful and cash rich as they now become your primary source for payment. Charging a simple fee for this service or convenience would be enormous to their bottom line. But, again, the security issue comes into play as now the phone companies have so much private information and are handling transactions like a bank.

Well I'm very interested to learn more about the nexus between Visa and dotMOBI.
To quote the March article, "Under the deal, Visa will help dotMobi develop a number of mobile payment capabilities, including contactless mobile payment (http://www.businessmobileasia.com/news/application/services/0,39061525,61988480,00.htm), vouchers and direct marketing."
What are the details of this terrific joint venture?
To Gerry's point, how is the security functionality?
When will those intriguing Visa-dotMOBI initiatives launch?

Perhaps they are tweaking the system as we speak. Surely they know the implications of conducting privacy matters over an unsecure network. Even having a pin number is not acceptable if that information can be intercepted.
But I don't think it is far off. I would not at all be surprised to see a roll out before the Olympics in Beijing. What an opportune time to introduce new technology and a new form of commerce to the world than to be on the world stage.
I think you will see a tremendous amount of .mobi advertising within the year and in less than a year. Why would the NFL or BofA spend their dollars in a TV campaign now when it is not NFL season? So I'll be looking in on the NFL games broadcast from Charlotte/Carolina Panther's Bank of America Stadium and waiting for that moment. And i don't think I will have to wait long. I will be at a few games and I'll be looking for all their promotional materials in the stadium. Perhaps one game day they will pass out 55,000 "terrible towels" to wave in the air with the BofA.mobi promo printed on it.
The conglomerates know what they are doing. They have people in their PR and marketing department smarter than us. They know it is all about timing and viewership and demographics and will want maximum exposure and impact when the launch.
It's coming, it's going to happen, it's already here...they are just playing the waiting game.
So what's happening with BocaVision?

I agree with your forecast Gerry.
Whats happening with BocaVision?
Embroiled in hand to hand combat & PM wars over at DNForum defending dotMOBI. It's the folks with the .net, .org and .info portfolios who are the most strident spreaders of lies about MOBI. I counter their ignorant, anti-MOBI propoganda because that place attracts several lurkers(guests) and affluent investors. If the garbage of Acneplexe,Duckinla, Fearless, sdsinc, and others go unchallenged, then the casual observers will believe the wild lies & conspiracies of the anti-MOBI gang.

I appreciate you making this effort but it feels like a loosing battle in that environment. In the end what will win the war is successful sites earning real money. Domainers defending their turf won't matter when you go to sell a domain that has cash flow attached to it (assuming you want to sell it at all). As the saying goes, money talks and bull$hit walks. There is no reasonable argument against a site with cash flow. The good news is that Mobility is here for you to focus your energies towards building .mobi sites and finding new ways to get those site to earn you money.

Nicely put...no one can say a site making money is a waste...appreciate mobility being here.

Scandiman, you are correct and I agree with your philosophy. I've been domaining (only .com and .mobi) since 1999 and have built my businesses around developed type-in traffic domains.
..and with respect to the spirit of the thread's topic, I own:
WalletPhone.mobi
WirelessWallet.mobi
MobileWallets.mobi
and I intend on developing them after my MobileTV dot mobi portfolio is finished.

Thank you Hedgefund. I appreciate that.
I realize they are bitter people throwing vicious tantrums. They are very angry with themselves, but they project and vocalize their anger outward at others.
Success breeds critics & envy.
MOBI is wildly successful, thus the critics & the envious scream with hatred.
