The new Olympic Team Paddling Center (Kayaking, Canoeing, etc) just opened in Charlotte NC not too long ago. Notice this kid saying he had spent alot of time in North Carolina.

Charlotte is home to BofA headquarters.

I'd email citizensbank "my main bank", but my account aint to high and I am not a talker or a good writer lol. But if anyone has the capabilities of this, then "do it" to their local main stream bank and ask them if they have mobile banking like BOFA.

i certainly agree that banking or bank or banks would be the most valuable of all bank related mobi's

what i was trying to get at is that i think that banking on mobi will be less generically oriented on a cellphone than it will on a fixed pc

there will be more concern about security and people will be more focussed on finding their specific bank than on banking services in general

since there are many examples of phrases getting more ovt than single words (i.e banks=737,912K ...bank of america=2,301,971K)
thus it is _possible_ that from cellphones the phrase "mobile banking" _might_ generate more ovt than banking

in any event, i was just speculating from a personal interest point of view and don't want to be seen as farting on this thread

4) gentlemen, if you want to have some more time to register some more nice mobis before the monster domainers fire up their massive automated registering software against registrars and get even the last .mobi in sight registered in one week, I suggest you to moderate your excitement comments. I know some of us may be very happy about certain developments, but I can assure you that you don't want to compete against machines that can register +70.000 domain names a day. I would suggest to let the news get to the "naysayers" naturally, from the market and external sources other than this forum.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to spoil the party with this comment, quite the opposite...I want to remind everyone that this and the old place are being read every day by hundreds of "vultures" that don't say a word and contribute to our discussion, but pay attention to every single tip they find here.
One of the nicest things of .mobi is that it may give an opportunity to small investors to do what they couldn't do with other extensions.

Here is another thought. Instead of just writting to the bank, how about some top knotch designers and programmers approach those banks and offer your services. Use your sites, our sites, my sites as references. Don't just tell them they need mobi, SHOW THEM they need mobi. Show them the BofA site and Commercial, the BMW, SAS, Business Week.

They may not even have heard about mobi but once they "see" mobi, that is the start. In order to get things going, there must be ATTENTION, INTEREST, DESIRE, ACTION...old marketing formula that ALL companies today still use and practice to reach and appeal to a consumer and sell a product or service.

Start with the attention and then the interest will follow. The desire will be to find out more, and the action will be to contact you and inquire.

The end result is a win-win-win situation...you win as the designer in payment and adding a big name to your portfolio, the firm wins as they now have a competitive edge on their market, and all of us win as mobi grows into what we know it can and will be.

In regards to available words, and the other forums, and the naysayers...it is unquestionably eating at the very core of some of these folks that there is success at the present and in the very foreseeable near future. There is no doubt in my mind that the dig is on. That is why I decided to post my list of common English Dictionary words as a members only benefit.

I would advise you to take another look, one last time, to see if these appeal to you and if you have a need and a market for them. You know as well as I do that they will be gone in due time.

Elsewhere I posted a list of thousands of 5 letter words. This is an incredible list with many common and not so common english words but also words in many languages and some slang. Yes it is long, but just glancing at it I regged 10 words...Lidos (beaches in Italian), Buoys (used offshore for swell measurements, currents, water and air temp...huge potential for sailing and naviagation) and others.

I do not view NP anymore and could care less about the going ons there. So good luck to those that are still present and have to fight your daily battles. I still peak in on DNF every now and then but it seems to be going more and more political as well as the usual anti mobi sentiment so that is not a huge time waster for me anymore.

Those that subscribe to sedo, today you would have gotten a newsletter. In that news letter there are a couple of things that I want to point out.

Something that I have been preaching for months or ever since I got into domaining. Diversify. Treat your domain portfolio like a stock portfolio.

The newsletter also specifically mentioned .mobi as a worthwhile investment and rapidly growing segment.

We're all here because we know something and believe in something. But we need to not only develop (as so many are stressing). But I think development for the sake of development is not the most critical factor.

Emphasis needs to be on taking mobi outside this group. I can have 600 developed mobis but if no one uses it, heard of it, or knows about it then that is all I have.

Here is another challenge to the group...find and explore new ways of getting mobi out to the general public and into mainstream. I am not fanatical, but mobi (MOE-BEE) is a cool sounding word and fun to say. That is why I named a dog mobi. In additon, my new license plate on our dog hauler will be K9Z.MOBI. Yes, people have asked my wife how Mobi got his name and what does it mean. She tells them all about it. They may not "get it" but they have now heard of it. And it is quite a name and a dog they will not forget. I also have no doubt that people ask of the meaning of K9Z.MOBI. My wife is now versed in it, we will set up a site to correspond to it and it will deal primarily as a therapy dog site. I have two other vehicles with the plates www.ceuq and the other ceuq.com. I get asked all the time about these sites. So it works.

Okay, I have more thoughts and rantings and ideas, but I do have to get back to work.

Yes, I am excited. And I think we are all now feeding off each other's excitement and the good news in general.
