I am pondering one of my sites right now, first I am thinking of some features that will make it more attractive.

My question is, is it possible/economical to offer email to the enduser in my extension? and what kind of hosting would I need, just say a maximum of 3,000 users. (I will be lucky to get 20 but yo never know)

I checked out 1and1 and they offer 4,000 email addresses, I guess my my main point is, can I give every login user a free email to gain more traffic economicly? And also would it be hard to set up on a .mobi page where they can access it from my site.

Thanks Guys/Gals

Brian

I will be back in like 3 hours got to head to pool soon :)

I think the webmail UI is up to the provider. A word of caution regarding this approach: Spammers love free accounts like this. They abuse them until they're busted and booted and they will drag you down with them as far as your host is concerned. It's your account after all so you're responsible.

ouch, thanks for the heads up. Those spammers, there worse then telemarketers.....the other day, I got solicited and I'm on the do not call list, and she kept trying to defend her self saying it didint apply to them, so I said ok I will listen and I told her to hold on for a minute while I answer the other call on the line and left her hanging on the phone for several minutes. lol it was funny, she didint call back yet.

Its a shame though how spammers ruin everything. But I guess it is possible though, but maybe I should stear clear of it.

Thanks Scandi

Yea, mobility is being hit now too. Yesterday we had to delete some posts and can two new sign ups that were here only to spam us. Any help from members to report it is appreciated. http://mobility.mobi/showthread.php?t=716

So in principle your idea is nice but the headaches that come with it may not be worthwhile to you.
