Add driving directions and maps on your site for FREE! If you own geo, restaurant, hotel or travel domains, this would be a perfect fit. A useful tool for any .mobi site. We now provide directions and maps for:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France , Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States

We have implemented a policy change:

You've spoken and we've listened! Now you're visitors will never know that they've left your site! What we'll do is create a mock up of your site that is hosted on pilot.mobi for the driving directions and maps. Not only will the input form look like your site, but now the results page will too!! It will look and feel just like your site, with your logo, colors, styles and links back to all your other pages. On cell phones, you really don't see the URL in the header so visitors will think that this is a custom application that you are offering right from your site.

Of course there's a hitch... We would maintain the right to advertise on that page. It would be a small un-obtrusive advert in either the top or bottom and adverts would never contain sexual or derogatory content. We feel this is a small exchange for such a great tool.

We are ready and willing to work with you! Just pm us and we'll add you to a long list of folks who have already asked for this functionality. Remember, no site is too small or too big. Thanks and we look forward to working with you.

Thank You,
Pilot

Pilot,

CityView.mobi has kindly adopted your code. Please review and check

a) that it works, being UK based I do not know offhand too many US addresses to test it.

b) that you are happy with the look and your credits. I have put your site link in the footer so that it appears on all pages.

Andy:

Thanks for using the directions... I checked you code, and you're close... I think something didn't copy right when you pasted in the code. On your site you have:
http://www.pilot.mobi/driving-direct...p?id=cityview.mobi

It should be:
http://www.pilot.mobi/driving-directions.asp?id=cityview.mobi

Let me know if I can assist in helping you implement!? Very nice site by the way!!!

Should have been

:embarassed:

It was the abbreviation of 'driving-direc...p' that caused the problem, I foolishly just pasted it and did not get the required linkage. I have tested it between the zoo and the aquarium in Seattle WA, it now works OK I believe. Full credit.

Thanks for your comment on cityview.mobi

Someone, probably a mod :pcguru:, went and changed my post and added the parameters [code] around my code. This morning, I changed it from [code] to [html] and everything seems to be good now.

Thanks Scandi

Pilot, you've been very busy lately! All the new countries and now this! Do you have an example of the new format? Sounds very promising.

I have a partial example. I'll be converting vcools http://driving.dir.mobi this week sometime. So if you have a click on the link, I'll be removing the powered by pilot logo(which is old) at the bottom and then when they click on the get directions button, it'll have the directions and still look like dir.mobi. If you click on the button to get directions now, it'll go to pilot's look and feel. That will change. What do you think Scandi?!

I like the way it still feels like the original website which is great but the powered by pilot wouldn't bother me. Maybe size it down some or use a text only statement, "powered by Pilot.mobi" or something similar. You're providing a free service, I think it is reasonable to have a small mention as long as it isn't too intrusive. It could become a cross link opportunity as well. As you grow your user base, consider having a link on your site, "sites powered by Pilot" and put links to all the sites that use your service. We all help each other with these cross links.

Cross linking... great idea!! I didn't think of it in that way.

In the past we only offered directions, but now we have maps for your .mobi site as well. Works in Progress, a member here, is using it for his site at the moment, this is what his evacuactions.mobi would looks like.

Have a look and pull up a map!
