View Full Version : Why Parked is better than NameDrive

I've had some remarkable activity suddenly this month on my domain MusicaGratuita.mobi: 39 visitors and 19 clicks at NameDrive. Nice numbers, but all for a grand total of 56 cents! 3 cents per click.

So I decided to do an experiment. I moved that one over to Parked. And in the first day there, here are my results so far:

8 visitors, 3 clicks.....64 cents.

So with 3 clicks, I've already made more than I'd made in 19 clicks the entire two weeks previous! :rolleyes2:

Granted, the numbers could potentially change when they finalize the tally in a day or two, but still, things are looking much better.

I think I'll be moving the rest of my .mobis over there VERY soon...

I get anywhere from $0.30 to $1.25 ppc for FX & Bankruptcy on Parked and $0.02 to $0.04 on ND.
Even SEDO pays more

Well...7 clicks from 7 visitors today, for another 88 cents!

Things are looking good, and even better, I checked the traffic analysis, and it's all coming from Mexico and Spain! And for MusicaGratuita, who could ask for anything better? They found it by direct navigation and via Google, searching for "musica gratis."

Nice to know that the .mobi word is spreading around the world -- they can't all be domainers!

Outside of Latin-based web folks don't really type the domain name. It's a long story..

Look at the bottom of this page:: there is a 2-D representation of the domain name

I agree. I have made more money with my .mobi names at Parked compared to Namedrive or Sedo.

In case anyone was interested in an update, after 2 weeks at Parked with this domain...

As a refresher, I had 39 visitors and 19 clicks at NameDrive over the first 2 weeks of February. Grand total of 56 cents!

Last 2 weeks of February, at Parked:

90 visitors, 50 clicks, for a total of $3.53 -- more of everything...now that's a bit more like it!

Not at all...it's MusicaGratuita.mobi. I think much/most of the traffic is from search engine results.

dagersh, that's a nice template their using - is it specifically designed by Parked for mobi sites?

Also, I'm wondering how did you get your site indexed - which search engine(s) are sending the traffic?

Does Parked allow you any customization options, such as which categories to display on the 2-click lander you're using?

BTW, thanks for sharing the info.

Thanks for the info Dagersh. Repped.

Also interested in MobiDick's question on indexing with SE's? Any tips?

Parked.com allows you to define your own Site Title, Site Meta tags, Site Description, all of which helps in SEO and brings in more visitors.
Does have a lot of effect on the stats once you have optimized the name you are putting there.

I didn't do anything special for indexing...it was actually indexed while the name was at NameDrive, and has done even better at Parked. I did look at the traffic stats and saw what search terms people were using to get there, however, and adjusted the keywords a bit to reflect that. And since Feb. 17 at Parked, the domain has had 110 visitors with a 57% CTR, for a total of $4.21 -- not huge bucks, but a lot better than ND. The way they count multiple clicks per user also helps, I'm sure.

As for their template, you can't specifically edit, or even choose that -- it's given automatically based on the ".mobi" extension. You can't even see it in their control panel...you just get see the regular parking page setup. You can remove specific categories if you don't want them on your page, however.

Well I moved a bunch of mobi to Parked, as well as some other domains.

On the other domains you can add custom content, but not with .mobi (yet).

I emailed my rep about that; he said they had no immediate plans to add that feature.

I think it would really be great if we could add some content at the bottom for SEO, and also it would be super if we could change the colours or even add our own custom logo at the top...

Let's all email our rep about it, or mention it to Donny - he seems like a nice guy. I mentioned to my rep that with nearly a million .mobi regged now, most as yet undeveloped, there's a huge market for whichever parking company steps up to the plate.
