:adore:
Thanks for the good laugh. This pic makes it look so big!
Almost as if it needs it's own pulpit! But it is a nice box!
And yes, go ahead, open the nice box and tell us how, IYHO, the actual phone is. :top:

Cool let us know how our sites look on the iphone, maybe let us see your site as a screen shot!- whatever people say about the iphone it certainly is a nice looking phone
(ps it would be great if apple had an emulator on their site to view our .mobi sites on pc)

You can download the safari browser for windows. You can test your sites using safari to see what they will look like on iphone.
http://www.apple.com/safari/
Also check out apple's iphone dev site: http://developer.apple.com/iphone
There's also iphoney. Its nice, but for macs only :mad2:. Hopefully someone will come out with a decent simulator for PC soon.

The "full web" on iphone.... pretty neat, till you have to click something..then its zoom/scroll time.

A mobi site on the iPhone.. last picture is a bit blurry, kinda hard to take good close-up pictures of the screen..

the screen is friggin brilliant.. the colors are so defined it doesnt even look like an LCD screen most of the time..
the virtual keyboard is somewhat hard to type on, even after 2 days, and even in landscape view.. and FORGET typing on the keyboard in portrait view -- for descriptive purposes lets just rename that "typo view" unless you have twigs for fingers.

Have you had any of the overheating problems?

Have you had any of the overheating problems?
no, it does get warm.. but not any warmer than the bottom of a laptop..
and laptops at least have fans, there is no way to cool these things other than using certain gels and low heat parts inside..

So how has your time using an iPhone effected the way you think about .mobi in general and specifically site design?

yea could be since charging it generates some heat (just felt it now)..
welp, the zoom/scroll feature is useful and necessary to visit "full sized" sites.. because really, at this point that is the majority of whats out there. using the phone only convinces me further that at some point special attention will be given to mobile users... i have to ask myself if mobile internet use is mainstream like everyone says it will be, how long are they going to make people zoom/scroll. most sites dont even redirect you to a "mobile version" nowadays.. zooming/scrolling is a novelty and thats why people still think its cool and that the iPhone is the end-all-be-all (or close to it) of the mobile internet.. like "problem solved".. (which is interesting because phones before the iphone could do this.. gotta love mainstream marketing ;)
i mean, all they did was put the internet in the palm of your hands... im sure no innovation will come of that.. :hmmmm2:
basically it already confirms what i knew.. mobile internet: gonna be huge. and this is only the beginning..
shhh, dont tell anyone there is a domain specifically devoted to the mobile internet and that theyre pushing for best practices... its 1997 in the mobile world. ;)

I tried iphoney today. Mobility looks like the desktop version with teeny, tiny letters. I tried to copy and paste the .jpeg but it looks like you have to have it hosted somewhere to display on this forum.
