They are indirectly referring to us .Mobi domainers on this forum and the Namepro's forum.

this is whitebark from namepros
he is a well-known mobi basher over at namepros
do a search under his user name and you will get his point of view and bias
as long as he stays over there, i don't give a hoot what he says

Such eloquent statements.
Such profound insight:
As a web developer I can tell you that designing for a shrinking market, which is the older mobile browsers, is a waste of time and money. Users of mobile devices count for low single digit percentages of Internet viewers each day.
Such BS. Unstubstantiated claims, unfounded claims and dribble, stats out the wazoo to counter every point regarding usage, but, "hey, look at me! I've got my own blob". Yes, his Bark is much worse than his bite.

First off - you have to love people who bash others without even knowing the facts. Sad really and that is pointed towards nombre.
I co-own the website fyo.ca - the article posted was submitted by a user and it was published almost two weeks ago.
My partner called me as he has had to delete comments because people "standing" up for mobi seem to delve into personal attacks before trying to address the written content - again see comments made on this very thread. Is this what passes for rational and civil discourse on this forum? I hope not as it makes all of you including the operators of this forum look rather ridiculous, small-minded and petty to put it bluntly.
My own views on mobi have nothing to do with the content posted on the link noted above. You are all free to post whatever you like in defence of mobi but if you continue the personal attacks and/or off topic posts on the website fyo.ca my biz partner who moderates that website will just continue to delete them. So keep it civil if you want to get your point across.
As for Gerry's mind-numbing additions about .ca - and what has that have to do with the article on fyo.ca? Your inclusion of it is obviously intended as a slight towards myself and it will get no rise from me as it deserves none.
And some wonder why they were banished from the other domain forums...
Welcome to the forum, Whitebark...
And just thought I'd toss out a reminder to everyone to try to keep this in fact a civil and level-headed discussion.
Thanks!
Gerry

Banished for comments made off the forum. That takes the prize.
But here is the real fun part...that is how predictable people are. I knew that posting such statements would be met with reaction.
Here's an idea... make a counter claim to it supporting the poster, whomever it is, but offering your views as you just claimed here. Ask your poster to support his claims with links, facts and numbers.
Or, let me come over and make another one of my "mind-numbing" counter points to such dribble and BS. I work the next couple of nights but would be more than happy to make time for you.
I don't like brussel sprouts so I don't eat them. Now, what in the hell does that have to do with anything? Would make for a great anti vegan blob simply because I don't like brussel sprouts. One vegetable out of hundreds on the market, but I am going to highlight just one as a rallying point for an anti vegetable claim.
As for my banishment on NP, Mark is a ********. You know what a ******** is don't you? It's a prick with ears.

Well, this thread has proven to be incendiary. Let's just get back to work.
Whitebark, welcome to Mobility. I look forward to your contributions to building .mobi , that is the primary purpose of this website. So many .mobi enthusiasts have been burned in other forums that there is an inevitable amount of venting that happens here. In time those wounds heal.
If you've developed an interest in .mobi then I encourage you to stay a while and see what Mobility is really about.

Gerry you are a real prize. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at a referer log to see where posts are coming from - our logs are live so there is no time delay. A number of posts had to be deleted and they lead back to two places - here and NP.
I came here to post what dagersh said - "keep this in fact a civil and level-headed discussion." But upon seeing the actual posts and their content... I might as well assume some just won't.

Thanks for the kind words - we've had it out before elsewhere but at least you always did so in a respectful and may I say it, tasteful manner. A true mark of competent and intelligent fellow.
I've been fooling around with mobi development but haven't launched anything yet - that has more to do with my being over-worked, and having to defend myself against personal attacks doesn't help any in that regard! As a company we have a few dozen mobi domains as investment tools, domain name protection (we own all the extensions for a few particular words/phrases), and for general developmental learning.
Last thing I will add - If anyone wants to write a counter article, or even a fresh article on .mobi send it to me or submit it through the website and it will be included. Please ensure it is four paragraphs or longer of original written content. :)

Thank you for the prize comments.
I know nothing about referrer logs.
I am not a rocket scientist. But give me some time to study that and perhaps I can be.
I can be quite civil when the opportunity arises. But I think it is beyond reproach that comments made on another spot (this forum) to portray our reaction and words about anti mobi comments are immediately met with someone, not just you, jumping in here to condemn this forum, its members, and its purpose and goals while it is business as usual on the other forums.
No condemnation over there, not a word about "hey lets keep it civil while were bashing". So don't come crying to me or on this forum about civility, fairness, banishment, and equality when those that preach it don't practice it.
Predictability is so much a core personality of the members on some forums. That does not take a rocket scientist to see.
I need to get working on my DeathToVeggies.mobi campaign.

Whitebark, welcome. Most of what is on this forum is, in fact, civil and level-headed.
In general, I would like to appeal to our members with (in many cases well-deserved) grudges to please check them at the door.

As a company we have a few dozen mobi domains as investment tools, domain name protection (we own all the extensions for a few particular words/phrases), and for general developmental learning.Well, I can relate with the personal attacks, I've endured many since Dec 06 simply for seeing potential in .mobi. It was such a drain on so many people that many flocked here to get away from the hostility embodied in the original post on your site. When we see nonsense like that entitled "domain news: DotMobi - The Worthless Extension" hopefully you can understand our contempt for such "journalism".
Anyway, enjoy your stay and please focus your attentions here to helping to build .mobi, that's what we are primarily about.

Ticket please.
I gotta shower and get ready for work.
Whitebark, welcome. Rather than me rant, I don't need to. You can handle your own forum and counter your poster's points with your own claims as to why there is indeed potential for mobi success.

Guys, keep it civil, do not make it personal, and focus positively on .mobi. Please check your grudges at the door before entering this new .mobi home.
Personally, I don't care who calls me anything. Any moment I spend caring is one less moment I spend focusing on .mobi's future. It's counter-productive.
Welcome aboard whitebark.

The person who wrote that article is disgustingly bias; it's not even really worth discussing.
Anyway, welcome Whitebark.
