I would like to think that when I write someone an email (be it company or small business) that they at least return my email with some sort of acnowledgement. Only 1 of the 30 companies I emailed has!

You see, iv'e spent a bit of time informing businesses about .mobi's existence mostly through email, some word of mouth, but many just don't seem to give a &!@#!
I can list these big companies but I won't.
All of the companies i emailed have now have lost their names to cybersquatters.
These companies spend millions each year to protect their name(s) now they can spend some more trying to get their names back!

Has anyone else experienced this type of company arrogance!?

Yes, I have experienced the same thing with one company in particular, Jazzercise.

I had e-mailed several contacts regarding their available Jazzercise.mobi and the only response I got was the out-of-office bounce from one person. It is now held by a squatter who like an idiot is parking it at Sedo with Gym and Aerobics links. Jazzercise is heavily TM'ed. Oh well, no harm in trying.

A big company needs to swoop on this kind of thing.. like real quick!. Some companies are so dam slack and arrogant IMO!

I must admit... Had I never heard of .mobi (many companies are still unaware of .mobi) and received an email from a stranger I didn't know, I probably would send the email to the trash can as well, not giving it a second thought.

I agree to a point, but companies must also use common sense- I just don't think they're using it. When free advice/info is given surely you must listen first, then act accordingly!

I am working on another large project, non mobi related.

I contacted the licensing boards of all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and other US protectorates, for Nursing, Physical therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Respiratory Therapy to please review my site, contact me to let me know if their state requirements for licensing were correct or if I need to revise them for current requirements. In addition, some folks in Canada expressed an interest so I contacted the licensing boards for all Canadian Provinces to provide updated information for licensing.

All anyone had to do was to go to my site (link provided), review their state (link provided) and let me know that the listed requirements were current or to let me know the revisions. This was a listing totally free to them and the only ones that truly benefited were the state boards. We are looking at more than 300 professionally composed and straight up emails being sent.

The grand total response was 7.

You offer free space on a site with more than 355,000 users in 2006 and already more than 310,000 users for 2007 and they don't even have the decency and courtesy to respond.

Screw them. Now they are not even part of my site.

That was a major commitment on your part, taking things a step further it sounds- you ought to be commended, unfortunately thats the way the world has seemingly become- self centered.

I guess people are not used to having someone come up to them and offer them a kind word (free of charge) to improve their business ways!

Im sorry but not to answer an email is downright rude- (even a thanks for your email- i have forwarded the email to the right department!) If you are big company dealing online its only right you answer ALL sincere emails. Heck have an automated response but a least something!
