Should I buy ads on admob, I was thinking today and just got an rxd ad ready for admob, is it worth it for only throwing $50-$100 in there and how long will that $50-$100 last for clicks on the average. I just don't want the money to only last for a week or so for clicks ect...and if there is a better source of advertising, I would love to know.

Thanks guys,
Brian

I haven't spent on mobile ads yet so I can't advise on how to price and how long it will last, but I want to make sure you are listed in all the directories and SE's we've got listed so far.

You can advertise free for 6 months with us, MADSNET (http://madsnet.com). Of course we are not as effective/mature as admob, but what you get to lose, it is FREE!

We accept both text ads and banner ads, all ads are rotating dynamically by our Java ad server. You can start and stop you campaigns instantly.

We also introduced flat-fee based advertising without PPC or bidding. All you need is to pay a flat monthly fee and get unlimited impressions. Of course while we are doing beta test, you don't need to pay anything. Yes, it is free right now.

Till July 8, we have served 100K ads in 20 days.

Look forward to serving you!

Hello,

you know how long 50$ will last you? Answer: One night, yes one night, i spend 50$ on SoloJuegos.mobi and it boost my traffic incredibly, but be carefull that this traffic is not constant, it will decrease once the money is gone. But you would put your site on the map, and that is worth 50$.

Cheers,

P.S.: For advice: What really will boost your traffic is get listed in www.google.com/xhtml, SoloJuegos.mobi jumped from 30 unique users to 800 unique users p/day after getting listed there.

I second that experince with admob. I filled $100 to promote one of my sites and it was gone in two days.

Assume you get 5% CTR and $0.02PPC, you roughly would get 100k impressions for $100. It is a very expensive service and you only get exposure in very short period of time. Most individual developers can not afford it.

That is why I came up with the flat-fee based advertising idea and the birth of http://madsnet.com.

That's great advice akc, thanks. Any suggestions on getting listed at google.com/xhtml?

Well scandiman there are no secret formula to get listed at Google, you basically put good content on your site, use Webmaster Tools from Google, and wait, that's it, Google crawler will do the rest. After 2 months of SoloJuegos.mobi being on air, we start seeing our site listed in the mobile Google page. That is the only cheap way to boost your traffic. If you sell something or have a primary source of income other then ads, it's probably much more effective to buy ads on Admob.com or other.

I found a good solution for mobile advertising. This combination worked for me last month when I was promoting Studio City.mobi.

Keep Admob for ads on your website to earn revenue. But use Mobile Adwords (just select the mobile keyword targeted campaign) for advertising.

Admob advertising is decent but I would prefer to have my ads displayed to people who are actually searching for keywords that relate to my website.

If you want to stay with admob then there are ways to make that $50 last a few days. Only select the regions and websites you want to display your ads on. If you select downloadable content then you could drain your $50 in 10 minutes. It all depends on how you set up your campaign.

Good Luck
