Digg-Style News Service For Cell Phones Launched

http://www.textually.org/textually/archives/images/set3/cell-phone-news-2.gif A Digg-style news service for cell phones called CellPhoneNews2.com (http://www.cellphonenews2.com/) has just launched.
The site, which uses a Digg-style interface, collects headlines from over 60 of the most popular cell phone blogs and news websites.
There is also a mobile version of the site, which carries over most of the features of the main site, and is among the first mobile sites to use Web 2.0 features on a .mobi (http://www.cellphonenews2.mobi/) site.
There are two main sections to the service. The Popular Stories are the current news items rated by users as worthy of being read by other users. The Upcoming News features every news item posted by each of the 60+ cell phone blogs and websites.

http://ready.mobi/images/dynamic_element_images/score_5.jpg http://ready.mobi/images/dynamic_element_images/overall_bg_GOOD_en_EN.jpg It will probably display very well on a mobile phone.

Your mobi.readiness score is calculated from the results displayed below. Failing tests and large page sizes both lower the score. Read through the report to understand how to improve your score - and your site.

Could someone outline - in simple non-tech terms (lol) - what features you reckon Web 2.0 would have that is better than WAP 2.0 for mobi sites...?

Is Web 2.0 better?...And, something we should get our developers to use on our sites?

I'm learning....Would appreciate your thoughts.

GeMulder, great find! Repped.

DomainTalker, Web 2.0 is more about interactivity. It is sometimes called the read/write web. Unlike the original Web 1.0, which was top-down read-only websites, Web 2.0 allows a great deal more interactivity, such as voting for sites (like digg) and adding comments (like wordpress) just to use two examples.
