I was wondering about the quality of some of my Italian registrations, from the perspective of a native Italian speaker. Can anyone comment? Dragon? And what's the best translation for "telefoniamobile"?

Thanks!

Affittare.mobi ("Rent")
AffittiCasa.mobi ("House Rentals")
AffittiCase.mobi
AffittoCasa.mobi ("House Rental")
AffittoCase.mobi
Comprare.mobi ("Purchase")
Cucinare.mobi ("Cooking")
Spiaggie.mobi ("Beaches")
TelefoniaMobile.mobi ("Mobile Telephony/Phone Service")
Vendere.mobi ("Sell")

Comprare.mobi
Purchase, to buy...strong word with great potential.

Especially if all the alternative methods of purchasing with the cell phone come into play. I can just see myself on my next trip to Italy sitting at a sidewalk cafe and when it is time to leave, going to Comprare.mobi and paying for the wine, antipasto, and gelato with the phone. It would be like a prepaid credit card or an added charge to your phone bill.

I can see it because it is happening in other parts of the world, most notably Japan.

Plus a gem for shopping directory in general.

Thanks for the confirmation on Comprare...I had a feeling it was a great one. And amazing thing is, I just regged it a little more than a week ago!

I.D., thanks for the in-depth analysis! Glad to see that some of them are very good! I wasn't sure which of the "affitticase" regs were best, so I took them all. Out of curiosity, why do you rate them so poorly? I saw many Google results for those, and the Italian OVT for "affitto casa" seemed fantastic...220,000!

As for "spiaggie," I do indeed see that there are many more results for "spiagge" in Google, but 400,000 results for "spiaggie" would indicate that either it's a very common misspelling or that it's a correct form of the word in some circumstances. In fact, the Italian OVT for it, spelled as "spiaggie," is 1000 -- not as high as the 12,000 for "spiaggia/spiagge," but it would seem to say that it's a legitimate spelling. Any thoughts on that?

My opinion is that Italians would research "affitto casa" to get a list of houses for rent but very unlikely they would expect to find a website with those 2 names together......it`s complicated to explain, italian language does not have the same rules of the english one.

Regarding spiagge......I can tell you that not all italians write italian 100 % correctly

Okay, I see what you mean...I'll just have to hold on to them for a while, see what happens...

Not too different than Americans frequently mangling English spelling, of course!
