This will increase the need for .mobi even further since it will have a smaller screen.

That's crazy, a mini-iphone. I agree though, with a smaller screen mobi will become more prevalent. Good find!

There is no way they can display a full web on a nano. User experience will be much worse than iphone even with zoom& scroll.

I read elsewhere that it's likely not to have touchscreen capabilities and would be limited to just basic phone and music player capabilities -- so I don't think this would come into play with .mobi...

This is one technology that no one has to worry about sitting idle. This is such rapidly growing and expanding. Every one wants in on the action.

If they are not manufacturing or producing cellular phones, then they want to own networks.

Great news! It's products like this which elucidate why .mobi really is the ONLY .mobile choice :bingo:

If history is any indicator, I doubt the iPhone will get any bigger.

The same story featured on Yahoo:

I truely believe that if they do release nano, .mobi will greatly benefit from it

Apparently, JP Morgan has retracted the report about an upcoming iPhone Nano (which came from one of their analysts which based it on a single new Apple patent).

That's not to say Apple won't launch a Nano version, but, like everything regarding Apple, it's pure speculation at this point.

It sounds to me that Apple needs to stop, fix the bugs known with the iPhone, release its long awaited Leopard, and then continue work on future projects.

All of a sudden these big companies have the notion of flooding the market with product or merchandise that no one wants.

Who remembers the iCube and Mac Mini and the iNewton. Not even a few years old and these are dead and dying.

MS is no exception. Where is the UMPC, the TouchPack software, and hoards of other products released just a couple of years ago.

It is like Ford releasing the Edsel in 1958. They thought people needed another large sedan. It was dead in less than 3 years.

It is great for companies to be so big and so powerful and have the resources at their disposal worldwide for R&D to create and deploy new products. But are the asking the consumer what they want?

I am all for anything that helps forward mobi.

But I think they need to focus on improving and stabilizing existing product lines or else risk losing customers and marketshare.

Long live the Newton!!

The Cube led to the Mini (which is still around) which led to the Apple TV. That product line has been pretty good actually. But I want OSX 10.5 NOW!

I'm gona either buy more .mobis up or invest in my own trendy bifocal company soon.......By the way when I saw the iphone last weekend it was nice, and was a little big for my liking and the internet took longer the 20 seconds then the guy had to run in to change the next song, so I couldnt see the web. Also my brother has a blackberry pearl and I think the blackberry pearl was smaller.

But tonight I think I am going to the same bar where the owner has the iphone, and gona check it out for a bit and will give you guys a full detailed report if he is there.

thats a shame, the mac mini is really cool. I bought mine last January, and realy is nifty for some stuff. Its perfect to have that and a pc hooked up together with a KVM switch.
