Have started a list of mobile site builders here http://www.mobyaffiliates.com/category/tools/create-mobile-site
So far have the following:
Wapple
Mobisitegalore
Xtgem
Peperonity
Winksite
Mobify.me
phn.me
Are there any others we are missing - which do you think are the best?
Personally I rate mobify if you have an existing web site already, wapple is pretty good if you are welling to pay. Views?

Other 'regular' CMS's can work as well
Drupal: http://mobiforge.com/developing/story/creating-mobile-sites-drupal-using-multisites

No plug in required .You just build a mobile friendly template style sheet etc.
On ready a 5/5 score can be obtained with these sites. not that , this score matters any more.

wow i never thought of drupal as a mobile CMS
Hi Drupal even two years ago had a mobile plugin by default, it just wasn't very good - it did not produce valid code. They should have improved it by now - has anyone tried it lately?

RE: Qfuse dot com
If I may be so bold, allow me to toss my hat into the ring and list a mobile builder/CMS which I think rises above the rest I've tried. Much more "web 2.0" than all the other big ones I've found. Plus - it's FREE!
Anyway - IMO the best tool out there is called Qfuse - and it's a mobile website builder/CMS AND also a QR Code Generator which links to the mobile website you create. Obviously it's all about experience, flexibility of UI, and personal opinion...so that's my $0.02.
Oh - and the platform also serves to provide analytics around number of times the site is viewed and the QR code scanned. A pretty cool service overall -- especially since it's FREE. Check it out at www dot qfuse dot com
They also have a pretty cool cartoon video on the homepage showing how the site works.
