I don't see this discussed , and that doesn't mean it has not been, but...
my mother just told me she was watching the weather channel and they are promoting their .mobi..

"TheWeatherCannel.mobi.. take it with you" or "TheWeatherChannel.mobi... take the weather with you"

She could not remember which it was, she was so excited to see it mentioned.

If they are promoting it, watch out.. how many millions of people watch the weather channel?? :coo2l:

That is very cool! I hope they are splashing TWC.mobi on the screen as well. TheWeatherChannel.mobi is a bit long for folks to key. The longer url does redirect to TWC.mobi so maybe that's how they are going to reinforce the abbreviation.

I dont know why they wouldnt advertise TWC.mobi or Weather.mobi? Seems odd they would have commercials for TheWeatherChannel.mobi. Still great news for .mobi though, but are you sure your mother heard it correctly? Time for me to watch the weather channel tonight, lol.

I went to the site and sent them some feedback.
It might be that they have to wait, but I sure let them know my feelings about not using even the twc.mobi name.

I am sure this was fueled by my embarrassment for the early announcement. :embarassed:

If they all redirect to one to one dot mobi, it's all good in the end.

Call it The Weather Channel, TWC, or Weather...redirects are cool and can dominate the market.
