I'm interested in working with developers to build & develop plans for a number of my .mobi domains.
I will consider the following options but if I can reach an agreement that means less cash 'up front' that will clearly get many more of the names developed... hence that is my preferred route.
1) Cash payment for work done at pre-agreed rate (i.e. basic contract out design work).
I would certainly be happy to discuss plans to develop a single site per developer.... to see what a developer can bring in the way of skills & ideas... after a site is developed I would then hope to continue with further sites with those developers with whom I can build a good working relationship.
2) Equity split; this would be my preferred route and assuming that a developer is confident in his or her work; the equity split could be worth many times the work involved?
I have almost 3,000 domains at present & would like to develop maybe 20 or 30 sites over the next 3 to 6 months... the domains which can be developed are not set in stone; if a developer wants to choose a particular domain that I hold I would be happy to consider that option.
I would propose that the developer would adopt maybe a 25% to 50% equity stake in the domain name itself (depending on value & development plans) plus a 50% revenue split on all revenues from the site.... ad infinitum.
There would be ongoing conditions such as site maintenance / upgrades etc. but I'm flexible on terms... the aim would be to look at developing names that have good long term residual income potential or sites that can be developed in the short to medium term for resale.
