Im not sure if i understand your question yelo. You can post videos on .mobi sites but they should be in 3gp format. I can rip a couple of her videos from youtube and convert them for you if you like? Has far as iframe goes that isnt going to happen anytime in the future. Most browsers dont support frames and even less support iframes. Just let me know which vids you would like compatible with mobi and ill gladly convert them for you.

Cheers
Rob

Hi ya's Predator,
I use a program called VideoGet to rip the videos from youtube site. It removes all branding that youtube puts in E.I. The big ugly youtube logo.

1. Download:
http://nuclear-coffee.com/videoget/VideoGetInstaller_trial.exe
2. Install.
3. Enjoy :)

Now you have the video on your hard drive.
There are many different applications that convert avi and mpg files to 3gp files. Most of them cost money! The Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0 is available for free if you signup in the nokia developer forum.
http://www.forum.nokia.com (http://www.forum.nokia.com/)
This particular application does a bit more than just convert the file. For instance i usually make a preview version of each file. That gives the user an opportunity to choose whether the person really wants to download the whole video or not. You can specify the file size you want, i make a 50k preview file.
Anyways once you've signed up and logged in go here http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/resources/tools_and_sdks/listings/media_tools.htmlThe Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0 is at the bottom of the page.

Keep those reps comin!!

OK. Now that we have the video in the correct format (3gp).

What code would you need you use to get the video to play on your mobile web page?

Cheers.

as usual the robster v. helpful :adore:

does anyone know, you when u view a vid and its stored temporarily on your comp.............
you can save it as a .flv file..........
.....(just off subject of .mobi for a sec as i see the great info above), but if you want to change the .flv file via software/program into a different type of file , away from .flv, what format is best? if you then want to upload it on a social network site? :dontknow:

obviously for music, .mp3 file. but what is best for video? .avi? .mpg?
i don't have a scooby :dontknow:

cheers :coo2l: :embarassed:

Oh yes for sure coast. there is a very good reason for this of course. google indexes the location of the file, hence 3gp folder scores a point in a search for 3gp

Thank You Pred !

well the file is in your Temporary Internet Files folder. Located here C:\Documents and Settings\yourcurrentusername\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files. So dig it out of there first. copy and paste it to your desktop. then youll need a free program to encode the file that you can find here http://www.rivavx.com/index.php?encoder&L=3
you definetly want to save your file has a avi extention for convenience.

P.S. I love your man-bikini back end shot!!
Cheers Mate!

Great, thanks Rob. I will try to have a go at that.

I didn't realise it was so easy, as when I had a quick search on the Internet I found a few complicated solutions.

Thanks again.

OK. Next question.

I have put in the code as suggested by Rob, and selecting the link seems to attempt to load the linked 3gp video, BUT, I get a "page too big" message.

Is there anyway of making the size of the 3gp files smaller, or do we need to set up some streaming facility for these videos to work?

Cheers.

Andy

Yes that is because of your limitations on your data plan .. i suggest making a 50kb file so people can preview the videos before downloading them. Other than that. People that have a data plan big enough to cover the size of the files will have no problem downloading

Cheers
Rob
