Andres, I think perhaps a link to a whois, perhaps the mtld one, would be a good idea for the forum for checking on .mobi names. There's many a time while reading a thread or a chat conversation, that a 'I wonder if that is open' thought pops in that begs to be checked. A link would make it easy for checking, and also keep one here, and not drifting off looking for names somewhere else. Just a thought.

Not a bad idea...Andres, would you be able to add that to the "Quick Links" menu up top?

Well if you want you can always use Whois Beta (http://www.whoisbeta.com) supports dotmobi and almost all of the popular extensions check it out !

I vote for one of the services that doesn't try to steal the name when you do a lookup. So far Moniker's whois has been very helpful in that regard.

Coasta i cant make anyone believe but my i have myself developed it and you can be rest assured that this service is perfectly safe and doesn't record any searches done by the users

Ehsan, I wasn't talking about your service; in fact, I didn't realize you had developed it. There have been complaints on many other forums of whois programs that register the name before it even makes it into the shopping cart.
I thought this thread was to find a link to one of the registrars' whois features, or something like that.
Congratulations on developing the one you listed.

For now, I've added some simple links under ".mobi Tools" (in the Quick Links pop-up) for the .mobi WHOIS, .mobi Emulator, and Ready.mobi (any other suggestions?).
When I have a bit more time, I'll try and do something more advanced with a search bar so you can search the WHOIS directly instead of just linking to it.
