View Full Version : Can we stop the RSS / Sedo messages?

When I browse the board I normally use the "New posts" link, as probably most people do.
Now for the last week or so it seems that the results are very much dominated by automated RSS "For sale at Sedo" messages, which I find very annoying. I come here for the news, if I want to know about Sedo auctions then I'll go to Sedo.
I would suggest to stop these postings. Or as a way in between to hide them when people search for New Posts.

I am tending to agree here, i too use the new post link, there seems to be a lot of these coming up lately!
And yes, i suppose we don't have to click on it to read it thing too!

I think it's handy to have a Sedo Thread on this forum. But agree with Hennie that it's better to remove them from the 'new posts' section.

(You can still view the Sedo auctions ending within 24 hours in the Sedo Marketplace (http://mobility.mobi/forumdisplay.php?f=57) sub-forum.)

Andres, I'm curious, was it the sub forum you eliminated from "new posts" or the user?

Also, I've gone ahead (on the advice of Scandi) and removed Adult posts from the "New Posts" to keep things clean for everyone. (The Adult section only has 2 sub-forums so this shouldn't be a big deal.)

I do think it would be good to have 1 post that has all those rss feeds in it. its a great reminder of the domains that are expiring soon. just don't like seeing 20 individual posts. is there anyway to do that?? i think scandi did it when the premium auction sent rss feeds everywhere

andres.....what i would like to see is 1 post under NEW POSTS that contains all the RSS feeds from sedo.....i'm sure most of use would glance to see what is expiring. but the majority of us would forget to go the the sedo thread and look there. i am another person that only clicks on NEW POSTS.

Media, what I had been doing is manually merging sedo threads when they showed up en masse. I can't think if an automated approach to this. I would simply suggest a daily stop in the sedo sub forum to see what is cooking.
