In the future these 3% can increase in 4%, 5%... Even it's not a high CPA, it allows all publishers to promote some apps or musics for their iPhone traffic, and earn some money with. With the 72h cookie and apps or albums at $10, this campaign can generate some interesting commissions...

But 3% sucks big time.

That said, I understand the margins on such sales, example, record label says this track retails at 59p, the labels get about 71% of that plus 8% of whatever it sells at.

So, pretty much kiss goodbye to 80% of revenue, on a single sale and expect a margin of about 11p, that's the margin I'm left to split with affiliates on my download sales.

Tight margins but there is the possibility for lots of volume, excuse the audio related pun lol

If folks buy a £3 track from me that has a 50p RRP the margin is £2.10 on PayPal and £1.55 on mobile billed sales.

That's the bit I can split 50 / 50 with anyone who drives me buying traffic.

The main itunes affiliate program through linkshare pays out 5% - so you could just sign up directly to that. However, the value mobpartner are bringing is the site building capability e.g. the top 10 lists etc. Plus if you use the API now it will provide other benefits in terms of country targeting.
