Hi all, just regged For-ex.mobi what do you think? It could be quite a useful tool with a currency conversion script.
Not as good as forex.mobi but could be better for search engine optimisation.
Any comments welcomed!
Cheers Chris

I'm not hot on hyphens though I do own a few. In this case, forex is 122371 OVT but for ex doesn't register in OVT. Thankfully for ex resolves to forex results in google and has a few sponsored results. Any future for this name won't materialize until forex.mobi is a viable site IMO. I would not be inclined to build it now, seems like there are better names to put the effort into at this time. Just my .02

Thanks for the comments scandi i think with this name i'll be soley for the start anyway relying on search engine traffic, which i think will be the core traffic generator for mobile websites, i don't expect to get type in traffic really although some could help!! But i'll have to ensure all my PR holding pages are showing links to the site to gain momentum. But i've got a massive list to develop but hopefully i'll get round to it at some point!

Yea, I think you are right that type-ins will be close to non-existent and the return traffic will likely be siphoned off to forex.mobi. My question here is will the SE's give a URL keyword ranking towards forex or some other meaning? I'm not sure how to determine it in this situation.

I dont really know mate, I have my .com for my portfolio as www.mobi-broker.com (http://www.mobi-broker.com) yet if your type 'mobi broker' into the search engine Google anyways, my website comes up tops, so i would have thought that the same would happen to mobi's, i may be wrong though but my impression of hyphened domains is that there one good use is seo as the search engine doesn't recognise the hyphen. so they seem to be the two seperate words being searched. I'm no expert in these matters though and i must admit i've alway shyed away from hyphens in the past!! Although from seeing the proof i'm a little more at ease with the idea of hypens. But still not 100% convinced!! I'd say 80% personally!

But the question/problem w/ for-ex is that it is not 2 keywords but is splitting the highly desirable single keyword forex in half. That's why on the one hand I am glad that google gives forex results when searching for ex but am concerned that OVT goes a completely different direction. I suggest checking wordtracker to compare the results for forex vs "for ex" and also trellian via popularsearches.com

Hmm looks like a bit of a risk looking at the data i've got time to drop it if needed! I'll do some more research on the matter!
