Has Mobility been sporadically slow to access the past several days for everyone or is it just me? Some days like today are painfully slow....then fast...then slow.....then nothing....then fast.... :mad2: Not having the same issues on other sites.

I definitely don't visit there as often as here, but a crap situation like theirs isn't what I'd want measure up against for Mobility. It's the inconsistency of the situation that is most frustrating. The home page can load really fast, then I click new posts and wait 20-30 seconds for the page to load...or vice versa, it's all over the map for me lately.

Yes I have noticed this also Scandi. I thought it was my end as well, then I checked other forums speed of loading. I then thought to myself the grass isn't always greener on the other side.I believe np does it's maintainance every day between 9-10 gmt

Thanks for letting me know, folks, I'll bring it up with Arvixe and see what they uncover.

Will report back as soon as I hear from them.

Hi folks, I've heard back from Arvixe:

Hello Andres,

We haven't noticed anything in our monitoring reports. Can you please have them do this?

When they notice a slowdown, have them go to:

http://stats.deer.arvixe.com (http://stats.deer.arvixe.com/) and note the load.

Generally a load of less than 1.0 is stellar. According to some, the load can go up to the number or processes and the server still provides fast service (the server has 8 processes). However, we've seen slowdowns at 8 so we try to make sure no server goes above 2-3 load (especially a business server). At the time of writing this, the load is 0.53.

If the load is down at a time your customers are having speed issues, then we need to be looking at the datacenter and links between their ISP and the datacenter rather than the server itself.

Regards,
Arvand SabetianSo next time we're running slow, please check the load (http://stats.deer.arvixe.com) on our server and post it here so I can follow up with Arvixe.

Thanks!

Andres, I'm thinking this might have been the issue in my instance since I had a similar problem in the past where only hostgator sites were running slow or not loading at all for me, and the problem was Comcast having connection issues with one internet trunk. But whatever was going on recently for me, everything seems back to normal.

Just an FYI Andres, a few minutes before 9 AM Pacific Mobility went dead. When I got back in I was the only member logged in, so clearly it wasn't just on my end this time.

Here's the load read, but it's a few minutes later... 09:03:16 up 11 min, 0 users, load average: 0.96, 1.63, 1.03

Thanks for reporting this, Gary.

The load has clearly increased significantly on this server (from an average of 1 to an average of over 3), so that might be what's causing the slowdown.

I've reported it to the owner of Arvixe and requested a permanent fix to this issue.

I'll advise as soon as I hear back.

In the interests of full disclosure; I have noticed that my internet speed is slower than it should be right across the board this morning.... it may be a local issue affecting my service?

Perhaps, but it still doesn't explain the high load on the server.Arvixe have advised that they have been consistently monitoring our server and discontinuing all problems as they arise.

The load is now back to normal at around 1.

Please continue to report if you notice slow load times or anything out of the ordinary as I want to make sure we are running as smoothly as possible.

Hello,

There was heavy load on the MySQL server. I restarted the server to reset any lost processes that were causing the problems, let me know if this increases speeds for you. Also, the load should drop to a more appropriate level for a BusinessClass server.

Thank you for contacting us.
