The subject of the interview is representing Nokia, so why is he saying that he doesn't think .mobi is the answer? If he personally doesn't think so I believe he should keep that opinion to himself instead of giving opponents more fodder.

Well...it was not really bashing .mobi I think...

The comment you refer too:

Is this hindering take-up of the mobile internet and can .mobi help?
Users need a proper experience to get engaged and many have burnt their fingers before. Dotmobi is a good initiative in that they’re educating the industry and providing guidelines, but I’m not convinced that .mobi per se is the solution. I think that the whole concept of a URL is conceptually daft. Why even put a URL in when you can search?

If he's bashing..he bashing every ltd... He thinks that "Dotmobi is a good initiative in that they’re educating the industry and providing guidelines"
That's a positive phrase...

Well, another comment not posted.

Nothing blatant or controversial.

"I think that the whole concept of a URL is conceptually daft. Why even put a URL in when you can search?"

I think the concept of no URL is conceptually daft. No URL? Search?

Google Results for:

44,100,000 for mobile (http://www.google.com/url?sa=X&oi=dict&ei=I01HR__KNYygeu_frZ4N&sig2=rlzoDPBtkm1ljBuTNOk1Pw&q=http://www.answers.com/mobile%26r%3D67&usg=AFQjCNHr7LjlJjkKmYiGRjzp6gAU9Hs4Qw) revolution (http://www.google.com/url?sa=X&oi=dict&ei=I01HR__KNYygeu_frZ4N&sig2=Ta_ksdXR5cOlyfeJW82OEQ&q=http://www.answers.com/revolution%26r%3D67&usg=AFQjCNH-_lAoWGOafI0h07z7ZwJ1bCngqg)
690,000,000 for mobile

If we counted on search results alone, no one would have ever found this article buried in the millions of search results.

he said not per se the answer so we're talking about not being dispositively or in fact the answer, that means he's leaving the door open to other solutions or other solutions as well. thats all fine.

Ok, I'll back off. Who knows what I'm going to end up saying to a reporter someday and I wouldn't want everyone second guessing me.

It just would've been nice to hear "maybe" or "perhaps."
