I've got Dreamweaver 8 by adobe, it works fine thats what i've used to design all my .mobi's. Dunno about MX tho!

If you buy DW8 give me a pm and i'll show you any essential bits you need to know to build a basic compliant page. Cheers Chris

The biggest issue is getting it from here to there (my computer to the internet). Some of the projects I have done have worked flawlessly on my computer but unable to upload correctly is my biggest issue. Once I have that problem solved, look out! If you think WeiWei is slick...

Dreamweaver is defintly great, I have worked with since 2000, but I started focusing my efforts on printing around 2004 and stoped learning, and stoped playing with that and flash. I can't wait to do it again.

For the uploading I think the biggest issue most people have is the Directory. For example the /. And nameing your home page file. At least that was my problems when I first started out. Ask aroudn here and i am sure somone will tell you the correct way.

Dreamweaver works just fine but it may not have a template to suite your needs and mine doesn't have a file header that is suitable. Easy enough to code your own though. For anyone just starting, there really isn't any need to spend the $$ for DW, a free text editor can work just fine if you don't mind raw coding and previewing in the browser. You end up previewing in the browser with DW anyway because their preview features really suck. The advantage of DW to me is file organization and templating. They also have a built in FTP but I prefer to use another FTP product anyway.

My programming knowledge is minimal and the lingo even less. But i figure if I taught myself joomla in three weeks time, I can do this.

Why in the hell am I still awake? I lost track of time. I woke up sometime early Saturday morning.

Thought I was going to crash earlier but realized wife was on the way to Phoenix and had not heard from her. Flight delayed for hours in Charlotte NC. Got into Phoenix around 430 my time.

Oh well, I'm rambling. Beat the dogs and go to bed...I mean feed the dogs and go to bed.

Yes.. There are special things you need to add to make it 100% mobile complient but overall normal html is basically mobile ready already. Unless you wish to go extreme and use WAP programming.

The new version CS3 claims to have .mobi templates. I haven't tried it yet, though.

Lol. Let us know how CS3 turns out. As for Dreamweaver, it should be able to compile mobi complaint sites. I usually do everything free-hand in notepad tho :).

Would like to see more open source or cms templates for mobi.

If there were more .mobi templates that'd be sw33t. As time goes on, however, I am sure more will become available, which in turn will definitely help mobi's growth. Good luck with fireworks!

Think of it as our gift to your quest for knowledge :pcguru: Someday you will thank us for this!

This guy makes great video tutorials, but he hasn't upgraded his cd packages to CS3. I'm not an affiliate yet but I would love it if you told him Coast sent you: http://learnflash.com/index.php

Thanks! I am sure I will need that help, pointers, and tips.

Already looking at signing up for additional classes.

If anyone is curious, these classes are throught Ed2go.com and usually through a state's community college system. I can send links if you would like.

Typical course is 6-8 weeks, 2 lessons each week, usually have 2 weeks to complete the lesson, you do not have to be present when lessons are released, so far very happy.

Total cost? $58.00 per course.
