Hi,
I'm looking at adding donate buttons from PayPal to some of my mobisitegalore sites using your new goodie for this.
I'm confused as to what information is needed in the set up process. Your set up form asks for a:
Seller API User Name
Seller API Password
Seller API Signature
Donation description
Donation description, I get.
I've looked around the PayPal website for hours now but can't find where to find this info. Even searching these terms in the help area bring up no results.
Is my regular user name / password the same as my API ?
Where can I find the API signature info?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Thank you for your interest in Akmins mobile sitebuilder??? I've been using it for years now. I am a member of the support forum. In the past, the response to questions was extremely slow and sporadic. That's one reason this section was added on, and it has worked fairly well.
I have to ask if you read my request at all?
I already let you know I couldn't find any info anywhere at PayPal regarding the requested info, but you tell me to find it there?
Could you direct me to a source where I can find my paypal API user name, password and signature? PayPals help section does not list any of these in their search feature. :hmmmm2: The link you give for your help leads you to PayPal help section...but, again...the info you speak of is nowhere to be found.
You guys seem to put a lot of effort into bringing these nice features in play, which I commend, BUT you also often lack the proper instructions on making them work...
Thanks again

The PayPal donate button has been implemented into several of my public service sites.
Non seem to be working properly. I get 404 Forbidden messages. Andy Moore tried it out on an iPhone and reported he was getting a 403 forbidden page.
A few sites it's in at this time:
daterape.mobi
earlysigns.mobi
evacuations.mobi
Could you please check out what might be wrong.
Thanks,
Mark

Since mobiSiteGalore is publishing pages through FTP, it doesn't appear to be application related. Rather it appears to be a permission related issue (403 Forbidden) at the hosted location. Do you have the issue of having to grant permission to PHP pages after publishing so that you can browse them? If so, check the permission for PayPal_Donate.php.
The "404 Not Found error" error you are referring to is an additional error that occurs because Apache - PHP (at the hosted location) is not properly configured to handle such (403 Forbidden) errors.

Yes, I have always had the permission issues, but only with my index file. The PayPal_Donate.php is showing correctly

Hi WIP,
We agree that, as per your latest input, the permission setting for "PayPal_Donate.php" is no different from other PHP files. But we don't have any means to control or modify the permission settings at the hosted location from within the application.
We are using FTP to publish the site files and it is the same for all site files and all FTP locations. All we can do is to check whether the same is working when published elsewhere, which it does. Hence we think that your web host could be of better help.

Here's the latest for anyone who uses HostGator and wants to utilize this tool. According to their support, you'll have to call or submit a ticket with the site and pages the paypal feature is on so they can make permission adjustments. There's nothing that we can do through cpanel. This is due to security issues, I'm told. HostGator has to "white list" it for it to work.
They changed the permission on earlysigns, but now I'm getting this when I click on the paypal button:
XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: </div>.

somewhere you are missing a </div> tag.
You could just try pasting one in before the </body> tag and see if that fixes it, may or may not, rather than try to work out the exact location where it is missing.
seems we've had this missing tag before LOL.

Yes, we have had a similar issue before
Seems as if the </div> elves have entered the picture. They have magically fixed the issue and the page now resolves (at least on my pc). Thanks to whoever fixed this :adore:
Now, I've got to finish the other sites I'm implimenting this into and send in my support ticket requests.

That's a nice tool gogo
bookmarked in case I need it for future reference. My main concern is having my sites render properly in all aspects. If they don't, I'd love to know how to fix them so they do.
My secondary concern is that mobisitegalore needs to know about these issues in order to fix any glitches so this doesn't happen to others in the future (and based off what I've seen, I have to assume that this is some sort of coding glitch)

This same issue is popping up on some other pages I've added this paypal goodie to. Most are showing the page fine, but two need correcting.

It appears to be input related issue. We are analyzing the same and will update you soon.

if you use PHP's tidy() function on all your outputs it will fix incorrect XHTML.
great for you customers because then they don't have these problems, but you'll still need to find your problems and solve them behind the scenes.

Libtidy install is going to be beyond 99% users.

Hi Andy what I meant is MSG could tidy the files themselves that they generate BEFORE the users download or ftp the sites they create on MSG... so there is no more of this problem of users finding their sites break because of missing tags.

Output generated by mobiSiteGalore is totally mobile standards compliant. One of it is just a FireFox browser related issue and no way affects the way it works with the mobile devices.

In the other issue, the internal page structure of mobiSiteGalore seem to have been affected. It could have happened because of usage of IE 8 browser for which we have come out with a correction recently.
