I personally don't use yahoo very much. I'm more of a googler....But now that I've decided to enter the world of "Quasi Developer in Training", I'm keeping my eyes much more open on all avenues of traffic.

I've recently noticed a nice up-tick in hits / visits to daterape. Did a little investigating and found some rather interesting statistics.

The term "date rape" still brings no significant results from Google

Yet in Yahoo, my little mobi comes up #5 of 25.6 million results..Page 1 :coo2l:

The funny thing is, when you search the same term in onesearch, it comes up #11 (of 9740 results) on page 2 :dontknow:. I'm still :hmmmm2: trying to figure out how onesearch, a "mobile" SE, gives worse results than "regular" yahoo. Although I'm certain they're tweaking all the time, this makes no sense at all to me.

Searching "Evacuations" in yahoo now brings up evacuations.mobi as #1 in regular yahoo and onesearch...but in the web results! Not that I'm complaining.....I'll take #1 any day....it just makes no sense!

Yes, Scandi...I agree that keyword mobi's rock. Although we all would prefer our entire portfolio to consist of keyword domains, quite a few of us don't. We have to get creative in order to show results. I'm still keeping my eyes on mobisitegalores progress in the SE area. I've been told they are analyzing this and hope to have improvements in their next version.

I'm not greedy....but I'm persistent.....and my goals are page 1 of all major SE's...

Not that I'm complaining.....I'll take #1 any day....it just makes no sense!I have the same issue - .mobi sites being indexed under the web results instead of the mobile web results. I contacted Yahoo about this and they said it was due to an incorrect DOCTYPE, however the DOCTYPE they told me to use was exactly the one I was using. They are still looking into the problem. I recommend you contact them and explain your issue. They obviously have a problem differentiating between mobile and normal websites, and the sooner they sort this out, the better for .mobi developers.
