Even though I show a violin and typically this word is associated with classical music, it is the plural of concert (concerts) in those languages (except english) which could lend itself well to the younger crowd also.

The bottom line is I need to quit reading, watching, looking, listening...turn off all my senses as I still see and find domain names in everything.

Concertos is a great name!
Used by everybody.
It's associated normally with band and festival concerts, as well as classical music.
So it covers the whole spectrum.

I mean, come on. First the dutch bombed Pearl Harbor and said, "it wasn't us."

Then they invented the wearable shower curtain and called it Fashion...

Right! As if wearing cute little wooden shoes decorated in delft blue was going to help sell this crap.

Those are stage lights, not shower heads. So one is always 'in the light'!

Either way though, it's stupid looking.

Guys, Its Victor and Rolf. Cutting edge avant garde Dutch fashion design team. I idolize them :adore:. And this is just for the runways.., and not in real life. :argh:

Their knife edge sharp tailoring and and garment construction skills are coveted and idolized by many( myself included). You get your Sports Illustrated Calendars. This is for those girls who dresses for themselves...!!!

Can you explain the whole "for the runway" phenomenon? Stuff like this simply boggles my mind. Is it just about making the most ridiculous looking thing to try and get the most press? Please educate.

Some part of it- yes. Although I think more often than not, their main point is to do satire on current society and women. How culturally women are put on a spot light and a lot of pressure to meet the " standards of beauty, deportment..etc" Made me think of Nora (the main chracter) in Henrik Ibsen's play Doll's house. Describing the "silver handcuffs" that women themselves & society as a whole imposes on women in standards of beauty, how they are expected to play the game within the " expected & objectified standards of beauty" In our current society. That is the feeling that I get but, I don't know if that was what they( Victor& Rolf) intended though.

What it will mean $ wise. They have zillions photographers right in front of these models( Runways) in fashion shows. From all around the world. The critiques and the buyers from around the world. Next morning printed all over the major fashion cities w/ the reviews and pix on the fashion press. The buyers place orders soon there after wanting " ditch the stage light, the theater curtains, I want it short, skip that , my customers are heavy in sz so less the fabric here etc.) some time later the real life clothes are shipped to the store.

The picture would be viewed a lot even by the industry insiders and copied
in some ways ( realistic style & production pricing) and several seasons afterwards you'll see much tamer (& diluted many times over) version of it at the store nearest you. Sans the shower curtains and lights. :)

:biggrin:Just pulling Martins leg.

I am very familiar with Victor and Rolf. That is why I knew where to find them. I recall seeing them years ago. Always coming up with something new. Their runway show is the spectacle.

The first image I had looks like somewhat wrapped up in a shower curtain and stepping out of the shower.

My sister and her husband lived in Rotterdam for nearly 5 years. And my nephew was class A football *soccer*. Now they are back in Virginia. And he is quite the soccer All Star, having started for the Varsity team as a freshman which is quite a big deal over here.

to be truly chic the lights on the shower rail should be powered by wind turbines, oh yes, they have those in the Netherlands... and why not get Don Quixote up there on the catwalk jousting with the windmills on the shower curtain.. and the water should be recycled...

MartinThat is why I am allowing you to keep them.

But you have no need for the dutch supermodels if you are going to treat them like bathroom or light fixtures.

I am obligated to give them shelter at Gerry's House for Miss-Behaving and Miss-Treated Supermodels. Its a charity and non-profit organization, of course.

I have already taken in these poor abused darlings.
