Hey all,

I have a meeting with a client this week and one of the things he wants me to do is to set up text messaging for his restaurant. He wants to be able to message all his customers about specials like twice a month or so and I will get him a site or splash page ect... so he can write on it.

This is where I get lost. What is the best and easist soultion so my client can basicly do it him self with me explaining. I could also do it for him and charge him a fee if that works.

Thanks all.

Don't use a free unlimited plan. It uses STMP and not SMS and the carriers aren't required to deliver your messages.

Thanks Coast,

Do you know of any reomendations, Money won't be an object since he will pay for it and it is a fancy restaurant. I just want something easy for me to exaplain to him or I could even do it.

I would love something that has a DB so when people sign up on there computer it keeps track of the guest book, but don't know if its an option.

I'll ask around for you. I don't have one off the top of my head.

Thanks for your help Coast.

The more info the better if someone else knows anything about sending text blasts from a restaurant to there customers. I got my meeting tommorrow with him, I just want to sound like I know everything about texting  Of couurse .mobi will play a role.

I cam accross some that harge a fee for like $100 a month but don't know if its good ect...

And by hte way its a good way to get .mobi started localy, once we figure out this text messaging, I am sure you could sell a local restaurant a .mobi site and let them get involved in SMS. My plan is to give this restaurant a splash page or small mobi site and put the link in the text blast.

Hey Biff,

Have you had a chance to take a look at the site I purchased from D about a month ago. This might be the perfect solution for your client. Have a look at plugg.mobi (http://plugg.mobi). Add one of your sites by registering and you sit back and wait for the instant text.
