Looks like a little more competition for some of you on the better dropping names :dontknow:

Also if you back ordered Mobi names from the land rush and don't want to pursue them anymore you need to remove them from your Pool account or they will grab them for you.

Best of luck guys!

Seems as though mobi drops are getting loads of attention! Lots of junk is dropping but many gems as well :coo2l:

This could be a game-changer...

Pool is normally very good at back-ordering domains. Unless they have as many holes as the current SnapNames system for back-ordering .mobi's, this could put the little guy out of business...and so it might be the end of the Mobility Exclusive Drop Auctions. :)

If they are starting Friday then they will be 1 day late on the big drop day.

Thursday is the real end.

I think the competition will be somewhat limited as Pool charges a minimum of $60 and Snapnames minimum is $59 so many names that may have value long term but not so much currently won't be picked up. My guess short one keyword and decent quality 3 letter will be the majority of the picks with high quality 2 and 3 keyword domains being hit and missed.

With MTLD introducing an instant mobile site creator, doing rfp releases of one and two character domains, and making the Device Atlas available to developers, they are increasing Mobi's chances of becoming the best TLD for mobile search in a huge way.

Although I am not real familiar with Instant Mobilizer, I am very optimistic and believe this software could be what Mobi needs to beat out competition. This would greatly increase quality mobile content in a very short time for MOBI. This will be great for the Mobi market but it will most likely be the last straw for small players in drop game.

Until that day Rock on :thrasher:

these are my thoughts as well... just a guess though, not sure how high the demand will be until it happens.

i think initially some people will (and have been) catching .mobi's just to catch .mobi... a good example are crappy quality LLL.mobi that get backordered through snapnames for $59ea.... yet i can barely sell them here for $25 each..

anyhow... i knew pool would be next... time to gird your loins. ;)

Don't worry, it is a good sign for dotMobi. Just keep your premium dotMobis rather than dump it. For example, now any LLL.mobi will be over $59 since all will be backordered.

Is there a certain one that's more reliable to backorder with? (Pool vs Snapnames)

Since the prices are comparable, which is the better choice to use?

I've never used either.

yea, that was sorta my thinking as well.

im not sure if the LLL.mobi will continue to be backordered at $59ea though.. i wonder who are these people paying $59ea for crappy LLL.mobi when i can barely sell them for $25 each on the forums.

but all this dropcatch activity by the big players is definitely the beginning of building a more stable aftermarket.. it will show how strong the demand is.
