View Full Version : I don't get it...
Between TubeStation.mobi and TubeStations.mobi, in the months of August and September there have been about 1300 unique visitors registered via NameDrive, far and away the most of any domains in my portfolio. However, in all of those visits, there has not been a single click.
For keywords, I'm using "london tube" for one of them, and "tube station" for the other, and they bring up links that would seem to be appropriate for the domain.
Any suggestions as to why there aren't clicks? Are there better keywords I should be using? These can't all be bot visits, can they?
:confused2:

I get very strange ND stats as well. I'm dumping them and moving back to Sedo bit by bit. My top 2 .mobi's at ND:
CampusAlert - 369 views - 1 click
Calistoga - 3 views - 1 click
Everything else 2 or less.
And for comparison, CampusAlerts - 0 views.
Makes no sense at all.
Between TubeStation.mobi and TubeStation.mobi,
Oops! Meant to say, "TubeStation.mobi and TubeStations.mobi"...sorry!
Yes, it's very weird. I have a number of others that got between 5 and 10 hits in September (although IceTea is up to 23 now), and those are mostly gambling names this time around. Just don't get the difference.
Maybe I should do that too...put those two on Sedo and see if they still get traffic anything like that.

I just checked tubestation.mobi and it had nothing that was relevant - ads for locksmiths, storage etc. If the ads don't tally with the name there's very little chance of getting clicks; more so on mobile where you're getting charged to surf.
Have you checked to see if there are any advertisers for your keywords - going to google.co.uk and typing tubestation only brings one advertiser (uk.shopping.com).
Why not switch your keywords to something 'London travel' related, or 'London hotels', 'London maps' etc?
Better yet - set up a mobi minisite with a map of the tube system, some London travel / hotels content, and some mobi adsense - shame to see that traffic go to waste....

tube station makes me think of the "london underground" or "underground" or "the tube" as that is what most British refer to it as. You might try those? :)

Well, that's what I was intending with the keywords I used -- I had tried "underground" and it came up with some weird results when I tested it. I think I even tried "London underground." However, I didn't leave them there for any substantial amount of time, so maybe I'll try them out for a few days...
Thanks for the input!

If you go this route, you can set up Google Analytics, and you'll see what keywords people are using and the referring URLs. It will give you much more information and it's free.

I can't help but feel there's some bot traffic being counted at ND. For the past 2 months, I've had one mobi with triple digit "uniques" (764 to be exact). 0 clicks.
Make no sense at all as to why this name is getting all of this traffic :dontknow:
The majority of my names are averaging between 4-12 uniques and 1-7 clicks
This seems more realistic at this stage, IMHO

I've moved my domains from Sedo to ND and i've noticed a massive reduction in traffic, so i think Sedo picks up bots and possibly ND doesn't??? Also i tried ND before and they seem to attract more clicks than Sedo anyway.

My score (10 domains) ...0 clicks on ND..in 3 months..
Probably will move them back to SEDO..

So far this month, the 1 name that was getting all of the views and 0 clicks is still doing the same.
BUT...glad to see I got a $2.78 click on musicstations  a few days back.
Thats a mobi parking record for me :coo2l:
