Agree to Andres post- a win win situation here. Was it sold to a company, or individual (do you know?)

It was sold to an individual on the forums, although it may be for business purposes, I suppose -- don't know the intended usage. Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Yes, some might consider it lengthy, but when you want to say "vegetarian cooking," there aren't many shorter ways to say it!

Speaking of recipes, I just discovered Google Recipes (http://www.google.com/base/s2?q=&hl=en&gl=us&sa=X&oi=gb_refinement&ct=title&a_n0=recipes&a_y0=9&a_o0=0&a_n1=Cuisine&a_y1=1&a_v1=vegetarian&a_o1=0&a_n2=Course&a_y2=1#ajax%3Fa_n0%3Drecipes%26a_y0%3D9%26start%3D 0%26q%3D%26scoring%3D%26%26a_n1%3Dcuisine%26a_y1%3 D1%26a_o1%3D5%26a_n2%3Dmain%218ingredient%26a_y2%3 D1%26a_o2%3D5%26a_n3%3Dcourse%26a_y3%3D1%26a_o3%3D 5%26a_n4%3Dpreparation%218time%26a_y4%3D2%26a_o4%3 D5%26a_n5%3Dmeal%218type%26a_y5%3D1%26a_o5%3D5%26a _n6%3Dservings%26a_y6%3D2%26a_o6%3D5%26%26%26lnk%3 Drefine-1%26gdci%3Dtrue%26hl%3Den%26gl%3Dus%26view%3DList) ...pretty cool.

This sale helps to reaffirm my belief that size doesn't matter - if you have a phrase which is a common search term, there are often few alternative ways to say what you want to say without detracting from the quality of the domain (& missing traffic for the sake of trying to drop a few characters).
Great sale, lets hope this price places a support level under many of our 2nd tier domains!

Agreed, sometimes there just aren't other ways to cut to the chase.. I would think something like EssentialOils.mubi, RedWine.mobi, DarkChocolate.mobi, HerbalSupplements.mobi (none of them are mine), etc would fetch very good prices, and in a sense, they may actually be better than their more limited generic counterparts.. Who's to say Wine.mobi makes a better wine site than RedWine.mobi, especially if the company in question only sells red wine?

That being said.. VegetarianCooking.mobi is a prime example of a name with a very targetted audience, and while it may seem worthless to skeptics (almost certain this would have received a $0.00 +/- Reg fee from Jeff) or even those who aren't all that familiar with the vegetarian market, it's quite the gem to those of us who appreciate vegetarian cuisine and is clearly well suited for such a purpose.
