Have a time zone use question ...

Is there an available plug-in or some other way of displaying multiple time zones on this site or at least within some sections of the forum where time stamps are referred to or used to determine auction winners, offer expirations, etc?

There are situations where someone from another time zone could be confused or unsure of time zone references in another person's posting.

Maybe we should all refer to GMT ??? ... But then one has to know what that means in relation to their own time zone.

Reece posted this link that helped me in a recent situation:
Here is a conversion to EST time: http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Eastern/d/-5/java

Thanks.

Every user sets their own time setting in vBulletin. Forcing one timezone on everyone would be a mess IMO.

Keeping track of different times worldwide is something we all need to be able to do and a useful PC site I like is http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

It can be good to not only say your time zone (EST or PST) but also mention a major city that people can reference to (New York City or Los Angeles).

Thanks scandi. Nice reference site ...

Since this is a worldwide forum, would that be handy /easy to include in the drop down menu under "Quick Links" at the top of the page ... that's kind of what I was trying to get at in my op ...

GMT? Well, I admit you've lost me there. I flunked my practice time zone test by making the Earth rotate backwards. Eek!

Here is a fun site with a world sunshine map - it gives you an idea of whether other countries are in daylight or night time: http://www.die.net/earth/
