What are your thoughts on the prices at Sedo auction? Were you expecting higher numbers?

Nope...because it's still very early. The last hours the prices will rise...

Haven't even bid yet. Will wait several more days.

What are your thoughts on the prices at Sedo auction? Were you expecting higher numbers?Actually, at this point I was expecting lower numbers.

It all comes down to the last 10 minutes of an auction, that's when all the serious bidding happens. The price can easily triple or even quadruple then. In the case of Sedo, since the auction gets extended with every last-minute bid, expect those "last 10 minutes" to last a lot longer than 600 seconds...

There are enough heavy hitters on this forum alone to keep anyone from getting a "super deal" on any of these names.

Also, many are playing with their cards very close to their chest...notice how forum activity has dropped dramatically.

Well i've just lost interest in bidding on a couple of names (you might already know which ones, judging by my name) cause they're already too high for me! however i will keep a keen eye on them as they relate to what I do, and have some similar names within my portfolio!
They are images and image.mobi

I'm bummed about some names having reserves. I think since they are withheld names, they should sell for whatever the market will bare. Anyhow, it looks like some of these will go for a pretty penny

I agree with Andres on both points: I didn't think they'd be this high already, and I expect them to go much higher in the final moments...

That's going to be at the TRAFFIC auction, I believe...

I think they will go much higher. Ask.mobi jumped into second position today. That's the one I'm watching but won't be bidding on. I don't think that search engine will want to be left behind when the world goes mobile.

I'm surprised loans.mobi already met its reserve. I think that must've been a low reserve if the bidding is only at 30,000 with BofA.mobi in the mix.

Am I the only one who thinks having reserves on these names is ridiculous? Mtld will make money even if a premium sells for $xxx. Why try to milk people dry? After all, they are names that will be developed in the end. If not, they get the name back anyways.

Whatever the outcome, I'm sure .mobi will get plenty of exposure out of this! Good luck to members here taking a punt at these names.

It's important to remember that mTLD is a private company with a need to make a profit to fund their various mobility initiatives like dev.mobi, site.mobi, ready.mobi, their device database initiative, and their recently discovered find.mobi. Plus all the exposure in various industry events is something that generally doesn't come free.

I'd rather have a financially sound mTLD able to continue this significant work than one that is struggling to keep the lights on.

Very good points here. Hopefully we see some of the auction proceeds go directly into awareness.

Good luck to all those gunning for a new mobi!

I'm not really following the exact prices of particular domains, but I am seeing that the front page of the auction list page (http://www.sedo.com/search/searchresult.php4?auctionevent=dotmobi&language=us&partnerid=34301) has the 4-digit bids creeping farther and farther down the page. Pretty soon, we'll see them move onto the second page of the list!

The 4-digit bids have now moved to the second page! And CreditCard.mobi has joined the 5-digit bids...

It continues to be an interesting auction...

I haven't really been keeping track of what had or hadn't hit reserve yet, but it seems this morning like there are definitely more of them "in the green."
