i love joomla and use it on my pc sites.

i have been studying this same issue on mobile sites and what i have found is this:
the yet to come joomla 1.5 seems like its going to be great for the mobile sites. you will be able to turn tables off and so on. i cant wait for the stable release. if i was better at this stuff i would be using the beta but im affraid ill just wait till the stable release. coming soon? hopefuly.

i have used 1.12 with the a8e hack (if thats what ya call it) and it does take the tables out. http://www.a8ejoomla.com i have not used it with the new security release 1.13. but would imagine it would work.

there are 2 good mobile templates that i have found and one ****ty one (scores 3/5 with seemingly bad xhtml.)

there is a little info on this topic at the joomla forums http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,140782.msg973934.html

the site i have been testing/ messin around with i can get to score a 4/5 with issues being some xhtml. maybe its cuz of the template ? dont know, i need to get back on that issue though.

as for plugins, i havent gotten to far with it., but i would like to see what community builder does.. but im thinking there will be issues with tables and such.

all N all i cant wait to put it to use on a mobile site. good luck and if ya find anything in your "diggin'" around please post it.

Worked on using joomla 1.0.13 to do pokerFAQ.mobi this weekend.
http://ready.mobi/results.jsp?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fpokerfaq.mobi&locale=en_EN&em=null&ch=null (http://ready.mobi/results.jsp?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fpokerfaq.mobi&locale=en_EN&em=null&ch=null)

scores a 4/5 w/ some issues that i think i can "iron out" with a little work..

just wanted to give a bump for the joomla dev.
im not at all very savvy with programing and such and thats why i have come to really like joomla for reg. pc sites. and now .mobi sites:embarassed:

Let me know what you can get worked out. I am really curious. If it is 4/5, perhaps someone else can assist with the tweaking.

Perhaps you can publish a tutorial!

Nope...I'm a strange guy. Not into the probably great tools lying around. Always create my sites from scratch...(although not a design wizard..will use a design template once and awhile)
